 Dormant seeding is a very effective way to plant multiple varieties of grass seed. Typically we use dormant seeding for reclamation projects and erosion control projects, planting seed in late fall or early spring to capitalize on snow melt and spring moisture to help establish what has been planted. Here at Ross Hydroseeding we have used dormant seeding on water tank projects, retention pond projects, and beautification projects at people’s cabin and recreation properties. Using multiple varieties of pasture, grasses, and wildflowers to accomplish what our customers are looking for. We had the opportunity to spend the last week in Washington looking over multiple Kentucky Blue grass production fields. It was an awesome experience to see the full circle from seed production fields to cleaning and packaging facilities. It is truly amazing what it takes to produce top quality seed. All of this is done with little to no irrigation which is amazing in its self. We are not that lucky with our Utah climate; here we have to water multiple times a day when establishing a new lawn to get best results.
