Wait… THAT is Asparagus retrofractus?
Yep. The same big, thorny plant growing in our field can actually be shaped into these amazing little bonsai-style trees and miniature forests.
We’ve been growing Asparagus retrofractus (Ming Fern) for seed for years, but lately we’ve noticed a lot more people looking for it. And then we started seeing what people are actually doing with these plants. Pretty cool.
Our plants are old, huge and very thorny, and when they fruit they get covered in clusters of berries that almost look like grapes.
We just put a new post on our blog with lots of pictures from the field and a little more about how we grow and harvest the seed.
