Taj Mahal Quartzite was the perfect fit. Its soft creams, warm tones, and subtle movement pair beautifully with the natural wood cabinetry and dark island, while the full-height stone backsplash ties everything together.
Sometimes the best stone choice isn’t the loudest one. ✨

And if you’ve had Taj Mahal on your wish list we currently have slabs IN STOCK at Great Northern Granite! Come see them in person. 🤍

Now THIS is a statement piece. 🤩

This incredible Agate slab was installed whole above a custom bar and backlit from behind, bringing every natural formation, color, and detail in the stone to life.

And let’s just say… this Whitefish home belongs to someone you might recognize. 🤫😉 Our lips are sealed.

Sometimes natural stone doesn’t need to be a countertop the stone itself gets to be the artwork.

One of our favorites from the archives. 🖤

We completed this custom bar for a repeat customer, and it’s still a project we love looking back on.
This is Explosion Black with a leathered finish, finished with a dramatic 6cm chiseled edge custom fabricated by hand in our shop. The heavy edge and natural texture give this stone an entirely different look and make the movement really stand out.
And if Explosion Black catches your eye, we currently have it in stock in a polished finish! Stop by Great Northern Granite to see the slabs in person.

Fantasy Brown never disappoints. 🤎

This leathered Fantasy Brown Dolomite fireplace surround was installed in a beautiful home in Columbia Falls, Montana. The movement, texture, and natural variation in this stone make the entire fireplace feel like a piece of art.
We love seeing natural stone used beyond countertops—especially when it makes a statement like this.

Meet Amazonian Quartzite and pictures honestly don’t do this one justice. The movement and color in this slab are incredible, with layers of teal, blue-green, rich browns, charcoal, cream, and warm earthy tones all flowing together.

This is one of those slabs you have to stop and stare at because you find something different every time you look at it. 💚🩵🤎

Some projects mean a little more. This one means a lot. ❤️

When Shea was a kid, there were times when he, his mom, and his brother needed the support of Samaritan House.

Now, years later, he owns Great Northern Granite and we had the opportunity to come back and help the same organization that once helped his family.

We were able to donate the stone, fabrication, and installation for the countertops in their new space as Samaritan House prepares for another 30 years of serving people in our community.

There’s something pretty incredible about life coming full circle like this.

You never know where life will take you, and you never forget the people and places that helped you along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful that Great Northern Granite was in a position to give back to an organization that was there for Shea and his family when they needed it. ❤️

Thank you, Samaritan House, for what you did then and for everything you continue to do for families in the Flathead Valley today.

You have to see this one in person. 💙

This incredible Labradorite is one of those natural stones a photo just can’t fully capture. As the light hits it, flashes of electric blue and teal appear throughout the slab, a natural optical effect known as "labradorescence."

Every inch is completely unique, with deep charcoal, green and blue tones that change depending on the light and viewing angle.

If you’re looking for a true statement stone for an island, bar, vanity, fireplace or feature piece… this is it.

Come see it in person and you’ll understand why we’re obsessed.
