Tenth Street Studio Wood products and laser engraving First and foremost, this is a hobby to me. I'm not out to make my fortune with this.

If I can pay for my materials and a little extra to cover some of my time and labor, I'm fine with that. Hopefully, that will translate into an attractive price for what I offer. But I'm also aware that I am trying to produce quality products with hobby sized equipment. That might mean, for instance, taking several lighter cuts at a slower pace to get the same result as some of the more production-oriented producers out there. Quite honestly, there are some very good producers out there, I'll be the first to tell you. And I don't feel like I'm in competition with any of them. I'm happy to be part of a creative community in this area and I think we all support each other in our own way. But I do enjoy taking your idea and trying to exceed your expectations. I am happy to try and repoduce exactly what you describe, but also like to find ways to expand on those ideas as well, giving you more options to choose from. Let me know what you are looking for and I will mock up ideas to find the right solution for your needs.

Please consider joining the Wayne County Arts Alliance. I don't consider myself an artist, but I joined because I support what they are trying to do for the community. They are a great bunch of people with diverse interests, and it is exciting to see how ideas take shape with a creative group like this. Reach out and join in!

Hey, Wayne County! Just letting you know we have events in the works for 2027. If you would like to join or support our group email us at [email protected] or send us a DM. Membership dues for 2027 are currently set at $50.
Here is a list of our 2027 events-
-SPENCER MEAGHER Retrospective this January/February (date to be announced soon) This will be held at the Fairfield Chamber building and will display several of Spencer's paintings owned by Wayne County art enthusiasts as well as some of his family's private collection.
-May 1st will be our second annual YOUNG TALENTS high school/college-age Art Show and competition held at CP Church. This was a big hit last year and the artwork from several area schools was outstanding!!!
-July 23-24 we will be presenting our first ARTS AT THE LEO! Kids activities, Art demonstrations, Concerts, Dance presentations, Artists and Vendors, food trucks, and more! All at Leo French Park. Mark your calendars!

I sold out of Tic Tac Toe games, so I made a few more this week. Great idea for the kids as a travel game. The cover attaches by magnets so you don't lose your marbles! All are made with premium hardwoods. I have Maple base with Cherry cover or Mahogany base with Walnut cover.

I just completed two more epoxy resin serving trays. This is very likely the last two I will be doing this year. Both are about 12" x 18". I will have these at the Junk 'N' Disorderly 3rd Saturday Flea Market on October 17 or Black Friday (Nov 27 &27), or at the Christmas Craft & Vendor Market at 204 S Pearl Street in McLeansboro on Dec 5. If they sell quickly, I might be coaxed into making more. ;-)

While making the layered guitar on the left, I accidently used settings for a thinner material on my first attempt at cutting the top layer. This didn't burn all they way through. Instead of scrapping it I decided to make this one a stand-alone piece, adding backing layers to include hangers. I can price this much cheaper and it will make someone a nice addition to their shop or studio. If you are interested in the one on the left, I can engrave a custom logo or design of your choice. I made this for the upcoming Christmas markets, but I can always make more! Christmas is fast approaching!

I'm finishing up another bullet board serving tray today. This will be on display at the Chamber building Thursday evening at the Art After Dark event, 6:00pm to 9:00pm, hosted by the Wayne County Arts Alliance. Come out and see a variety of items by local artists and craftsmen, many of the items will be for sale. This is during the Fall Fun Fest, so be sure and stop in while you're browsing the food and activities!
