We’ve put a lot of work into this place, and I’m excited to share how it came together!

Our friend Judd’s condo at 3237 Redstone Rd in Boulder is listed. Amber and I, through A&J Services, have had our hands in everything from tile and plumbing to lighting, doors, trim, and all those little finishing details that take longer than anyone thinks. 😂

These stairs didn’t need to be torn out and rebuilt. A little imagination and a bold pattern on the risers gave an ordinary staircase new personality.

Another A&J project finished! 🔨🏠

Our client reached out asking for ideas on how to spice up this entry hallway. It was a pretty blank canvas, and those long walls were begging for some character.

After talking through some options, wainscoting was the winner.

We installed new baseboards, chair rail, and custom picture-frame molding along both sides of the hallway, then finished everything in a crisp white to create one continuous, built-in look.

No walls moved. No major remodel. Just some thoughtfully designed finish carpentry that completely changed the personality of the space.

What was once a simple pass-through is now an entryway with depth, detail, and a little architectural punch. And because everything stayed white, it adds character without making an already narrow hallway feel smaller.

Sometimes you don’t need to reinvent a room. You just need to give it some character.

Some projects start with lumber.

This one started with a vision.

What followed was months of planning, building, refining, and problem-solving. Every beam, raised bed, shelf, window, vent, and panel had a purpose. The goal wasn’t simply to build a greenhouse. It was to create a space that would thrive through Colorado’s seasons and serve its owners for years to come.

The Colorado plains are not known for being gentle. Wind, snow, sun, and weather all have a way of testing whether something was built right.

Yet here it stands.

Not just as a structure, but as a living space. A place where seeds become plants, work becomes harvest, and plans for tomorrow begin to take shape.

The best part of any project isn’t the day it’s completed.

It’s seeing it being used exactly as intended.

This project started as an unused corner of a bedroom. The goal was simple: create a safe, accessible bathroom space for an elderly family member while maximizing every inch of available room.

We began with demolition and layout planning, then framed a completely new wet-room style bathroom within the existing bedroom footprint. New plumbing was installed for the toilet, sink, and shower area, along with electrical upgrades including lighting, GFCI protection, and a new exhaust fan vented through the exterior wall.

The entire floor and shower area were waterproofed using a continuous wet-room system designed to handle full wash-down conditions. We rebuilt portions of the subfloor where needed, installed wall protection panels, completed tile work, added grab bars and accessibility features, and finished everything with trim, sealants, paint touch-ups, and fixtures.

Along the way we also re-insulated the exterior wall, repaired a loose toilet, and installed a donated vanity and sink to help keep the project within budget.

The finished result is a compact, durable, easy-to-clean wet room that provides safe daily use, improved accessibility, and peace of mind for the family.
