Stop by Fredonia Farmer's Market Saturday 9am-1pm. We will have pawpaw fruit in stock (while it lasts)! $6 a lb.

This years crop is smaller due to raccoons and opossums being snacky. Hopefully we will have it for a few weeks, but nothing is guaranteed.

Calling all Pawpaw fans! The first event of the year is coming! Saturday October 17th, 11am at Lockwood's Greenhouses. Join Amy and Jim in an informal informational talk about Pawpaws! Try some fresh fruit** and a few of our favorite recipes. A limited quantity of small year seedlings will also be available. The talk is free but please register by calling Lockwoods at (716-649-4684) or email at [email protected].

**Fruit will not available for sale - watch our posts for fruit sales when available, the harvest this year is smaller than last and we want to make sure enough fruit will be available for the talk.

This is why I say if you have one happy Common Blue Violet, you will soon have many. Violets often set Cleistogamous flowers which are self pollinating and set seed without ever opening. Seed is then dispersed several feet as the pod constricts as it dries and shoots them in all directions. This one violet has over 20 seed heads.
