Hi everyone and Welcome to This Week in Patterson Family History- Family Time.
We grew up with Family Gatherings being an important part of everything. Visits to our Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and more.
This photo was taken during a visit to our Grandparents house , lol, we still have that chair. And if you recognize the picture hanging to the left, that is still in our dining room. It was painted by our neighbor, Susan, and depicted our Grandparents house and the Farm.
Today it’s so easy to snap pictures of , well, everything, but back then it was usually a special occasion.
Thank You to our Adorable Cousin Missy❤️ for recently sharing this photo. How many people can you recognize,😂😂😂.
Hope you’re having a Great night, see you soon.😃

Good Morning everyone and Welcome To Monday Funday- The Annual Holiday Bazaar.
In what has become a Wonderful way to kick off the Holiday Season, we invite you all to to our Families Farm on Friday Night, December 4th( 5pm-9pm). There will be a host of local vendors selling crafts and gifts for the upcoming season. As you enter you’ll be greeted by Betty the Barn Bar with hot chocolate & coffee, and our very own Lorie with an array of wreaths, grave blankets, swags, sprays, gnomes, roping, and even t-shirts.
From there you will meet faces from past events and new vendors that are joining us for the 1st time.
We still have spaces available, and if you’re interested, please click on events on this page for information.
For this event, we will once again be collecting non perishable food items for the Food Pantry right down the road.
We can’t wait to see you all, hope you can join us. Hope you have a Great Day.😃

Hi everyone and Welcome to This Week in Patterson Family History- Sharing the Farm.
This week’s picture comes from our very own Adorable Melissa❤️. I think it was something our Family always treasured, sharing the the Farm- The History, the Memories, the Times, Usually the Good, because well, who else is around when it’s snowing, raining, super hot, super cold, the manure spreader broke with a full load, 😂😂😂.
From class trips, to our Grand Father proudly showing his Peacocks, to someone just stopping in during Milking time.
I think this would carry over to today’s FFD, or just visiting at the counter.
In this picture Cousin Melissa on the left and her sister Michelle on the right, are joined by Friends of theirs. When Family came in from out of town, a trip to see the cows was always part of the visit, lol. Here they’re standing next to the Barn Yard where young cows would be raised, the MilkHouse just out of sight on the right, oh the memories. Hope you’re all having a Great night, see you soon.😃

Good Morning everyone and Welcome to Monday Funday - The Good Old Days!
I came across this article a few weeks ago, it goes back to the days of racing when everyone’s car was different , they were all built in small garages or Barns all over. Opening night at the races were so Exciting because you got to see everyone’s new creation, their idea of what a race car should be, and their Best attempt to create it.
Then, as now , you don’t race at the local level for money, you race because you love the competition, the people, and the camaraderie.
Instead of a call to Troyer, Bicknell, or some other chassis builder on Monday, it might be a call to Osborne’s Auto Wreckers( Dad’s favorite), Blewett’s, or rummaging through yours or someone else’s junk, lol.
Hope you’re all having a Great Day, see you soon.😃

Good morning everyone and Welcome to This Week in Patterson Family History- Pumpkins & Stuff.
It was the very early’80’s, The Herd of Holstein Cows were still a fixture on the Farm. Our Parents decided we would grow pumpkins & Indian Corn as a project for us kids, so we’d all learn to work together.
A spot was chosen next to the night pasture where it all started. Richard, Sharon, Uncle D, & myself would do the planting, w**ding, and harvesting, with Dad’s help of course, and Cindy Ann would sell them.
Here we found out a pumpkin that grew to close to the fence was a tasty treat the cows enjoyed,😂😂😂.
We used the, now restored, Planter Jr cultivater for w**d control, along with hoeing, lots and lots of hoeing, lol.
Cousin Carl would help with the earliest of signs, he could magically make straight lines with perfection. I quickly realized I could not and went with it, more of a flowing lettering style that has evolved into what I do now.
We would bring all the Pumpkins into the yard, Dad said this way people knew how much a Pumpkin cost before they got to the register. There was plenty of corn grown on the Farm, so with a homemade corn knife, we cut stalks by hand and tied them with the same twine used for cornstalks.
Showing we’ve gone full circle,😂😂😂, Tom now cuts all the stalks by hand with his own corn knife modeled after our Dad’s from over 40 years ago. Lol, we bring them in on the same tractor and wagons too.
Traditions are a Big part of what we do on the Farm, stop in and join us, we’d LOVE to share them with you.
Hope you’re having a Great Day, see you soon.😃
