At J.Plum Home we aim to bring brightness, warmth, and style into your home with refreshed furniture finds, home decor pieces, and custom creations. A husband and wife team based out of Naples, Maine, we scour the state to find pre-loved furniture pieces to restore and redesign with a fresh look that honors their original details. In our travels, we also find vintage home decor items that we add to our collection. We love hearing stories and history about the pieces we find and always try to pass them on. With both our furniture and decor, we embrace the combination of old and new. We enjoy bringing fresh life to older pieces, as well as enriching new things with the history and age of previously loved items. In the end, we aim to create a cozy, welcoming space - both in our home and yours! We are always open to custom projects! Countless people have come in and shared that it was our A-frame signs around the block that got their attention and brought them in {sidenote: how you found them is some of the most helpful feedback you can share with a small business!}.

It makes me laugh how often we can overcomplicate things. We all worry about keeping up with flashy and fun ways of getting people‘s attention that we forget about the simplest. In fact, people specifically call out the fact that ours is old-school, friendly, and handwritten as something that draws them in.

Just a little reminder to us all that it’s okay to not always do “the most” and, sometimes even better to do very little, as long as it’s done with love 💜

We are often told that it takes people multiple trips around the shop to take it all in. Every time we hear that, we do a little happy dance, because we really do it intentionally.

There are nooks and crannies everywhere, handpicked things we love in corners up and down. So carve out some time this weekend, and savor a slow stroll around the shop. We promise you, the chaotic real world will still be there when you return - but it’s lovely to escape it for just a little bit 💜

Join us for NOVEL CHATS this Wednesday! The most laidback book club where reading the book is welcome but not required, attendance is drop-in, drinks and yummy snacks are offered, and friends are made!!

Starting October 12th, we are officially open 7 DAYS A WEEK!! (Please note that Sundays are closing a bit earlier than we have been).

Another scheduling heads up — j.plum home will be closed Oct 26th - Nov 6th as the holiday elves do their massive store overall to create a nostalgic, cozy Christmas wonderland right in freeport, maine. Our huge Christmas Kick-Off will be Nov 7th & 8th and is traditionally our biggest weekend of the year. You don’t want to miss it!!

One of my favorite things to do with antique and vintage pieces is to find beautiful, fancy things and use them for everyday purposes.

Take these gorgeous cut crystal pieces…I never thought of myself as a “crystal” type of girl. It felt too formal, too proper, too grand for me. But one day, I found a big chip on the edge of a crystal canister we collected so I couldn’t sell it. Not wanting it to go to waste…I now keep my tampons in it and the silliness of it makes me wildly happy.

So back to these pieces in the store. What if I took those beautiful glasses, and used them to take my meds every morning? What if I turned the top of that butter dish over to be a little rectangular mail organizer? What if I used that seasoning set just at the edge of our messy stove?

How about that amazing bar set?? Cmon folks, get creative - what fun things could we do with that?
