We apologize for the late notice; due to a state of emergency being declared, the venues will not be open and so no events can be held.

For those of you with pre-orders that were scheduled for pickup this weekend, we will be reaching out to make other pickup arrangements.

Happy autumn! This weekend marks Toadshade's last fall events for the year; if you'd like to come see us at a plant sale this autumn, come see us this weekend!

On Saturday, September 26, 8:30 am to 2:00 PM, we'll be selling plants and seeds at the Jersey-Friendly Yards Conference at the Gateway building on the campus of Ocean County College, College Drive (Toms River, NJ 08754). For more information and to register for the conference, visit https://jerseyyards.org/events/2026-conference/. Conference registration is $20, rain or shine, and Toadshade pre-orders are welcome!

And Sunday, September 27 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, will be our last Sunday for the season selling plants and seeds at the Hunterdon Community Farmer’s Market at the Dvoor Farm in Flemington, NJ (111 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822). This event is free and open to the public (rain or shine!) and for full details, you can visit https://www.hunterdonfarmersmarket.org/. Pre-orders, as always, are welcome!

Pre-orders close on Thursday September 24 at 5 pm for both events, but don't worry if you don't want to pay shipping! You can always pick up orders at Frenchtown Home and Hardware in Frenchtown NJ.

Toadshade has a big event weekend coming up! We'll be in a few different places (Collegeville, PA, and Riverton, NJ) on Saturday, and at the Hunterdon Community Farmer's Market in Flemington on Sunday. Check out the details below, and don't forget, tomorrow (Thursday) at 5 pm is the cutoff for weekend pre-orders, so if you'd like to pick up a pre-order at one of our event's this weekend, now's the time to place those orders. If you don't have time to pre-order, don't worry--we'll have plenty of plants and seeds for sale at all of these events!

On Saturday September 19, 8:30 am to 12:30 PM: Toadshade will be selling plants and seeds at the Hardy Plant Society’s Fall Plant Sale at the grounds of the Farm, Home & Youth Foundation of Montgomery County in Collegeville, PA (also the home of the Montgomery County 4-H Club), 1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville, PA 19426. On Saturday, September 19, 10:00 am to 2:00 PM: Toadshade will be selling plants and seeds at the Riverton Green Team Native Plant Garden Tour and Plant Sale. This event begins at Riverton’s Gazebo (308 Broad St., Riverton, NJ, 08077), and is free and open to the public! In case of inclement weather, this event has a rain date of September 20, and more information about this event can be found at https://riverton-nj.com/riverton-native-plant-garden-tour/. Toadshade pre-orders are welcome!

Sundays in September (Sept 20, 27) 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Toadshade will be back selling plants and seeds at the Hunterdon Community Farmer’s Market at the Dvoor Farm in Flemington, NJ (111 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822). We’ll be there every weekend in September, making it a great place to stop by, pick up pre-orders, or talk with us about fall garden planning. This weekend is Toadshade's last Sunday (9 am-1pm!) at the Hunterdon Community Farmer's Market (111 Mine St, Flemington, NJ) until September, but don't worry! We ship plants and seeds all summer long, and you can always pick up your orders (if you arrange to ahead of time) at Frenchtown Home & Hardware (11 Kingwood Ave, Frenchtown, NJ), just a few miles from Flemington. We hope to see you this weekend!

Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, Toadshade will be selling plants and seeds at the Union County Native Plant Swap and Shop, at the Scout Camping Area in the Watchung Reservation, located near the Trailside Nature & Science Center at 452 New Providence Road in Mountainside, NJ. This event is free and open to the public! To participate in the "Swap" portion of the event, where up to three invasive plants pulled from your garden may be exchanged for up to three native plants free of charge, you must be a resident of Union County and register in advance at the following link: https://ucnj.org/plant-swap/

On Saturday, June 13th, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Toadshade will be selling plants and seeds at the Lambertville Goes Wild Native Plant Sale, Mary Sheridan Park (corner of York & George Sts, Lambertville, NJ 08530). This event is free and open the public, and – as always – pre-orders are welcome!

And on Sunday June 14, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Toadshade will once again be back selling plants and seeds at the Hunterdon Community Farmer's Market at the Hunterdon Land Trust Headquarters property, the old Dvoor Farm on the Route 12 Circle in Flemington, NJ ( 111 Mine Street, Flemington NJ 08822). We’ll be there every Sunday through May and June (September, too!) and pre-orders are welcome!

Heads-up, Toadshade has two more events this week!

On Thursday, May 21, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Toadshade will be selling plants at Odd Bird Brewing (10 Risler Street Stockton NJ United States 08559)--we'll be there with several vendors from the Hunterdon Community Farmer's Market and the folks from Odd Bird themselves (don't forget to stop in for a drink!!) and we hope to see you there for a nice, relaxing community evening the day after this hot weather breaks (and won't THAT be a relief)!

And on Sunday, May 24th, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Toadshade will once again be back selling plants and seeds at the Hunterdon Community Farmers Market at the Hunterdon Land Trust Headquarters property, the old Dvoor Farm on the Route 12 Circle in Flemington, NJ (111 Mine Street, Flemington NJ 08822). Pre-orders are welcome, as always, until Thursday at 5:00 pm, to give us time to get everyone's orders prepared for the market. We hope to see you there!

We've got another busy event weekend coming up!

On Saturday, May 16th, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm: Toadshade will be back selling plants and seeds at the Glen Ridge Art & Eco Fair (you’ll find us near the intersection of Ridgewood and Woodland Ave, Glen Ridge, NJ 07424). (Rain date is May 17th).

And on Sunday, May 17th, Toadshade will once again be back selling plants and seeds at the Hunterdon Community Farmers Market at the Hunterdon Land Trust Headquarters property, the old Dvoor Farm on the Route 12 Circle in Flemington, NJ (111 Mine Street, Flemington NJ 08822). We’ll be there every Sunday through May and June (September, too!).

Both events are free and open to the public, and as always, pre-orders are welcome up through this coming Thursday (May 14th) at 5:00 pm--so make sure you contact us with your pre-orders before Thursday so we'll have them ready for pickup at the events!

On Saturday, May 2nd, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Toadshade will be selling plants and seeds at the New Jersey Beekeepers Association Spring State Meeting at Morris County College (214 Center Grove Rd, Randolph, NJ 07869). For more information and to register for the conference, visit https://njba38.wildapricot.org/events. Toadshade pre-orders are welcome, although registration is required to attend the conference.

PS: The flower in the photo is Blue False Indigo (Baptisia australis), one of our favorite drought-tolerant species, which we'll be bringing along with us this weekend!

Weekend event update, part 3! Both of this weekend's events (Passaic County Earth Day Festival in Woodland Park, NJ and Wild Earth Fest in Mountainside, NJ) HAVE NOW BEEN CANCELLED due to rain. If you placed a pre-order for pickup at one of this weekend's events, don't worry: we're in the process of reaching out so we can arrange a pickup time and place that will work for you.

We've got a busy weekend coming up, with two free events that are open to the public! If you want to place a pre-order for pickup at either of these events, make sure you place your pre-order before 5:00 pm this Thursday (4/23).

On Saturday, April 25, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, we'll be selling plants and seeds at the 3rd Annual Passaic County Earth Day Festival at R***e Camp Park (387 R***e Camp Rd, Woodland Park, NJ 07424). (Rain date is April 26th).

And on Sunday April 26, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, we'll be selling plants and seeds at the 14th Annual Wild Earth Fest at the Watchung Reservation Loop ((Watchung Reservation Loop & Picnic area, W R Tracey Drive, Mountainside, NJ 07092). (Event is rain or shine).
