These are a few red flags to watch for if you are buying a puppy from a breeder. 🚩🚩
My advice is based on bad experiences I’ve heard about from others, and education I’ve received in the animal welfare/animal rescue community. If you are on the fence about whether you should buy from a breeder or try to adopt from a shelter/rescue, I’ll be posting a few videos this week that will hopefully be helpful to you! 💗

This trio of dogs was too cute not to have a place on the grid!! Rococo was our temp foster while we babysat our former foster Hippo, making him our 28th foster dog! (When we fostered Hippo, she was our 6th foster!) Their bitey face games are my favorite 😅🤪

An update on my former foster, Greer, who was one of the 42 Westies rescued from a breeding/hoarding/neglect situation about six weeks ago in Marysville. (All Westies from this case have been adopted.)

UPDATE: Adopted!!! 🎉
I am in general more of a dog-person and I’m allergic to cats (in a way that makes my eyeballs itch, not in a way that would send me to the E.R.), so it’s really saying something about how special this cat is that I felt compelled to hang out with her!! Shelter notes confirm: “She warms up fast, loves attention, and will absolutely greet you like you’re a celebrity every time you come home. She’s also a pro at using her scratching post and loves chasing tiny catnip toys she can proudly carry around. Raisin is vocal, friendly, easygoing, and a champion napper.”

She’s 12 years old and deserves to spend her golden years in a loving home. 💕 She does have notes about a “medical history” so make sure to check on that with the shelter if you are interested in adopting her. And if you aren’t looking for your next cat, please share so we can find Raisin her home 🫶🏻

I have always loved Bonnie Raitt’s cover of “Angel from Montgomery”. The original songwriter said he was imagining a woman who wanted to escape her life so badly that “She just wanted an angel to come and take her away from all this.” That’s how I imagine my foster dog must’ve felt in her previous situation too. Just wanting to be somewhere safe and somewhere far away from the horrible situation she was in. So now I have one more layer of love for “Angel of Montgomery”, because it makes me think of my brave and hopeful little foster dog, whose wish to be saved eventually came true. ❤️‍🩹🥲
