As a carpenter, builder, designer, and planner, there has been no greater inspiration for me than Brent Hull. Tonight in Houston I got to share some of my work with him and chat for a bit after his talk.
Hearing him speak in person about timeless building, proper proportion, and the craft of millwork was a real privilege. His work and teaching have shaped how I think about almost everything I build. Grateful for the chance to connect.

Furniture repair? You betcha!
This sectional had a broken front rail and a sag in the middle of each long section.
I scabbed a new rail onto the existing one so the frame is solid again, then made four 7" tapered legs, stained and finished to match the originals, and set them under the center of each 6-ft+ section.
Same look. A lot more support.
