🏆 The Golden Pour Awards
Craftsmanship + Redemption
🕷️🕸️ The Crazy Black Widow Spider Web Floor swipe 👉

I've been in this trade 22 years. I started in 2004 working for someone else, then started Floor Rescue in 2005 with $391.

This spiderweb floor has 13 metallic colors. We had a small area that didn't bond, so we cut it out and repaired it. Then we decided to run a spiderweb through the whole floor and made it glow in the dark. After that came the spider. What's a spiderweb without a spider? Inspired by the owner and his black widow ford trucks.

It's all epoxy, with blacklight-responsive metallic pigments. I was only willing to cut a design into epoxy because of my years polishing, staining and scoring concrete.

Thank you to the_golden_pour_awards and the founders Diamond | SoulFlo Coatings Eagle Kianes for the Foundation and for this opportunity. And thank you to Bob Harris for inspiring me early on to keep pursuing creativity in decorative concrete. And also to KRiS for collabing & alessio trabelsi for encouraging us to train others to succeed in this thing!

Congratulations to every recipient, and to the team behind the first award show by installers, for installers.

From failed stained concrete to stunning polished concrete!

This FloorRescue project in Forney, Texas was part of an apartment loft conversion.

We removed the failed stained finish and transformed the existing concrete into a beautiful dyed and polished floor.

Watch the full transformation, from grinding to the finished results.

Before we ever put the machines on this 10,000-square-foot floor, we created mock-ups so the team could compare the finish options side by side on their own slab.

Those samples were reviewed, photographed and sent up the chain before the final direction was selected.

Polished concrete came back as the selection.

Now we go to work.

Grinding. Refinement. Polishing. Paying attention to the details while maintaining consistency across a floor this size.

That's one of the things I enjoy about polished concrete. When the slab will support it, you're working with the concrete that's already there and bringing out the character of it.

Swipe through and you'll see the project from the early selection process through the finished floor.

Two metallic epoxy failures on the same garage floor. One was my fault. One wasn't.
