We have a pad! Paul Harrison of Willow Haven Builders in McKinney is awesome! He listens and makes great suggestions to keep us on budget and he is fast! We start framing next week! He thinks we will be under-roof by Thanksgiving! Amazing!

So excited about the amazing progress of our barn. Paul Harrison of Willow Haven Builders is doing a fantastic job. His communication is amazing and his creativity is so helpful. He is helping us see our vision but keep it in a budget. Even the Reluctant Farmer agrees.

The Reluctant Farmer thinks most women don’t have their own cabinets in the garage! I seriously doubt that! I know my people and we have storage everywhere!!!

The reluctant farmer and I spun our honey yesterday! We have 120 pounds for our co-op. As usual, he was thrilled about the whole activity. We’ve made the decision that we are going to hire someone to manage the bees moving forward. It’s too much for us to handle anymore. It’s been fine and we’ve learned a lot and we’ll still get some honey, and I can go play with the bees whenever I want without all the pressure of keeping them alive and healthy. Total respect for beekeeper!

It was Honey Day 2026! We labored on Labor Day! Not sure how many pounds we harvested but we will find out when we go to spin the honey later this month!
