The decorative 1x4 pine shiplap slats had a hidden 1-1/4 inch dead-air gap inside the attic structure. If you just screw a motorized mount to those slats, the torque will violently warp and snap the ceiling planks under load.

By packing that air gap 100% solid from the top down, we anchored the VEVOR motorized steel base plate straight to the shiplap face with zero external clutter on the porch. One click of a wireless remote, and a commercial-grade entertainment center drops down perfectly flush and safe. 🎥
ZONE 2: The Master Bedroom Barn Door Challenge
Next, we moved inside to handle a tight master bedroom wall. The layout required centering the television perfectly with the bed, but a custom rolling barn door track sat right in the path. The steel roller wheels stuck out 3 full inches off the drywall face, blocking standard display lines.
