If your pool took a hit from the storm, you’re not alone. 🌀
Between the debris, the flooding, and the disrupted chemistry — pools across Gulf Breeze, Pensacola, and Navarre are struggling right now. Here’s what to look for as your pool recovers:
🍃 Debris Load — Remove all leaves, branches, and organic material as quickly as possible. The longer it sits, the harder your water chemistry fights to keep up.
🟢 Green Water — Organic debris burns through chlorine fast and creates the perfect environment for algae. If your pool is turning green, test your phosphate levels before you shock — high phosphates from leaf debris are often the hidden culprit.
⚗️ Water Chemistry — Test your pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and phosphates before adding any chemicals. Treating without testing is guesswork and gets expensive fast.
💧 Water Level — Heavy rainfall may have raised your water level significantly. Run your waste line to bring it back to normal operating level before resuming regular filtration.
🔧 Equipment Check — Inspect your pump, filter, and skimmer baskets. Storm debris can clog equipment quickly and cause damage if left unchecked. Run your filter continuously until the water clears.
🌀 Circulation — Keep that pump running 24 hours a day during recovery. Your filter is your best friend right now.
