🍂 Fall is proof that change can be beautiful. 🍁

As the days get shorter and the leaves begin to turn, nature reminds us that change isn’t something to fear—it’s part of growing, transforming, and making room for what comes next. 🌿

The golden colors, crisp mornings, and cozy days of fall bring their own kind of beauty to the garden. And while some plants are winding down for the season, there’s still plenty to appreciate—and plenty to plant! 🌱

Take a moment to slow down, enjoy the changing colors, and embrace the beauty of the season.

Fall is beautiful. Change is beautiful. And there’s always something new growing. 🍂💛

🌱🍂 PLANT FOR SUCCESS THIS FALL! 🍂🌱

Did you know fall is one of the best times of year to plant?

Cooler temperatures and warm soil create ideal conditions for plants to establish their roots before winter arrives. That means less stress on your plants now—and a beautiful head start when spring rolls around! 🌿

🍁 Why plant in the fall?

🌱 Stronger root systems — Plants can focus their energy on establishing roots instead of putting on lots of top growth.

💧 Less watering & stress — Cooler temperatures and fall moisture can mean less water is needed while plants get established.

❄️ Better prepared for winter — Well-established plants have a stronger foundation going into the colder months.

🌸 A head start for spring — Many perennials, trees, and shrubs will be ready to take off when warmer weather returns.

🌲 What can you plant?
Trees • Shrubs • Perennials • Spring-flowering bulbs • Cool-season annuals • Groundcovers & more!

Fall planting is all about getting your plants established now so they can thrive later. 🍂🌱

Stop by Stephen’s Nursery and let us help you choose the right plants for your landscape!

💧🌸 PLANT FLOWERS, SAVE WATER? YES, REALLY!

It may seem surprising, but adding the right plants to your landscape can actually help conserve water—especially here in Colorado!

A well-planned landscape filled with drought-tolerant flowers, perennials, shrubs, and groundcovers helps shade the soil, reduce evaporation, and improve water retention. Bare soil and large expanses of rock can heat up quickly, causing moisture to evaporate faster and increasing stress on surrounding plants.

When shopping for plants, look for varieties labeled:
☀️ Full Sun
💧 Drought Tolerant
🔥 Heat Resistant
🌿 Xeric or Water Wise

Some of our favorite Colorado performers include:
• Lavender
• Yarrow
• Russian Sage
• Blanket Flower (Gaillardia)
• Penstemon
• Catmint
• Sedum
• Coneflower (Echinacea)

These plants thrive in Colorado’s intense sun, handle dry conditions, attract pollinators, and require less supplemental water once established.

Remember: “Drought tolerant” doesn’t mean “never water.” New plants need regular watering while establishing strong root systems. Once established, they’ll reward you with beautiful blooms while using significantly less water than thirsty traditional landscapes.

Stop by Stephens Nursery and let us help you create a beautiful, pollinator-friendly landscape that’s built for Colorado’s climate! 🌼🐝
