Reading this review made my week because decoding our clients’ design style is part of the job I care about most.

When I walk into a home for the first time, I spend most of that visit looking and listening. I want to see the furniture you already love and the colors you keep reaching for. I also want to understand how you actually use the room, and all of that comes before I pull out a single sample. That’s how we landed on the right update for these living room drapes.

A big thank you to our install team, too, for taking their time and making sure everything hung just right.

And thank you to Linda for the kind words.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “I cannot say enough about this team. Deb’s design eye is just spot on. She picked up on our style and found us perfect update to our Living Room drapes. Install team took time to make sure it all looked so professional. Let’s hope we can keep it looking this good. So many thanks for all they did for us.” - Linda R.

The back windows in this South Jersey home took the full force of the afternoon sun, and the living room got uncomfortably warm because of it.

We fit them with custom shutters, which block the harshest light and cut down on the heat coming through the glass. The part my clients like best is the vanes. Tilt them one way and the glare is gone, tilt them a little less and you can still see the yard. They keep their view and the room stays comfortable, which is a pretty good trade for one window treatment.

If a room in your home gets more sun than you'd like, I'd be glad to come out and take a look. We work with homeowners across Burlington County, Camden County, and beyond.

Change the fabric, the trim, or what you layer over it, and a Roman shade becomes a completely different window. These four are from a recent project, and each one shows a different way to take a simple shade further.

The first has a shaped scalloped bottom, faced in a small check so the curve stands out, and finished with coral tassel trim. The second has an inset linen band with mitered corners and a thin green welt along the edge. In the third, the shade sits under an arched cornice with a pleated, tassel-trimmed skirt, and the shade itself finishes with a navy band and brush fringe. And in the last one, we cut the plaid so the lines run straight from the valance down through the shade, which takes careful measuring but makes the window read as one piece.

Every one of these started as a basic Roman shade. If you have a window that needs more than plain, send me a message and let's see where yours could go.

If your shades still have a cord hanging down the side, this is the month to do something about it.

October is Window Covering Safety Month, and cords remain one of the easiest hazards in a home to overlook because they've been there for years. Motorized shades and draperies take the cord out of the picture. You raise and lower them with a remote, an app, or a voice command through your smart home system, and the window looks cleaner without anything hanging off it.

Send us a message if you'd like to talk through which rooms to start with.

I love an arched window, and so did the owners of this Burlington County home. They wanted the arch to stay the star of the room, and once I saw the fall color filling the glass, I completely agreed.

We framed the windows with tailored stationary panels that sit just outside the trim, so the curve of the arch stays fully visible. The room gets the softness of drapery and keeps every bit of the light, along with the view of those trees.

If you have an arched window you're not sure how to treat, save this for inspiration.

Top-down, bottom-up is the shade I suggest most often for bathrooms, and this primary bath is a good example of why.

These Hunter Douglas Vignette shades lower from the top, so the sky comes in while everything below stays private. Tile runs up the walls and across the floor, and the vanity top is stone, leaving little to soften the light. The fabric folds of a Vignette bring softness and luxury to an otherwise hard space, and you never have to give up natural light to get your privacy.

If you have a bathroom window you've been avoiding, let's talk.

When we work on a senior living space, we understand we're not just dressing windows. We're designing someone's home. 💙

That means fire-rated fabrics, light-filtering solutions that support healthy sleep and daily rhythms, and durable materials that still feel warm and residential. In this memory care room, a tailored cornice and clean-lined solar shade do all of that quietly — the way good design should.

Window Alternatives, our commercial division, specializes in exactly this kind of work. From blueprint to install, we handle every detail.

Design has spent the better part of a decade playing it safe, favoring neutral walls and quiet palettes in rooms built to photograph well without saying much.

That era is ending, and I just finished the project that proves it.

Behind the curtain on a commercial install day.

Every project through our commercial division, Window Alternatives, runs the same way — organized, methodical, and ready for whatever the day brings. Trent keeps a tight ship from the moment we arrive, and that preparation is exactly why everything lands cleanly.

This senior living project at Lantern Hill in New Providence, NJ was a collaboration with the interior design team at MOII. Custom drapery panels with layered sheers on decorative double traversing rods — hardware that lets both treatments operate independently while keeping the sheers neatly tucked behind the panels at all times.

Residents get full light control, beautiful panels flanking the windows all day, and a dining room that feels warm and residential. That's the standard we hold for every commercial project.

Interior designers...this one's for you.

After nearly thirty years working alongside designers across South Jersey, the Jersey Shore, and the greater Philadelphia region, we know what makes a trade partnership actually work. Responsive communication. Accurate measuring. Fabrication you can count on. And an installation team that shows up prepared and gets it right.

We act as an extension of your team — handling every detail from first measure to final install so you can stay focused on design. Custom draperies, shades, shutters, motorization, soft goods — all of it, start to finish.

If you're looking for a workroom partner who takes your projects as seriously as you do, we'd love to connect.
