As the biggest wedding week Burdock Acres has taken on yet gets underway, I need to take a minute to thank these two gems of humans. ❤️
They didn’t just stay to cheer on my big kid at her soccer game — complete with all the bear hugs and sideline snuggles my three kiddos could ask for — they then spent their day helping me head into the woods for what will forever be known as The Great Cedar Mission with Paul Bunyan and our Boss. 🌲😂
This weekend’s wedding requires A LOT of greenery, and before any of it becomes beautiful garlands and installations, it has to be cut, hauled out of the woods, brought home, unloaded, processed and eventually turned into something worthy of a wedding day.
There are so many parts of running a small business that never make it into the pretty finished photos.
Sometimes it looks like this — friends giving up their time, climbing on top of an absolutely ridiculous pile of cedar, risking a concussion in a bumpy cow field, loving on my kids, and jumping into whatever crazy project I’ve gotten myself into this time.
And I really don’t have the words for how much that means to me.
This is a really big week for Burdock Acres, and having people in my corner who are willing to show up — whether that means cheering from the sidelines, giving my kids an extra squeeze, hauling half the forest home, or simply reminding me that I don’t have to do every single thing alone — means more than I can say.
I am so incredibly grateful for you both. ❤️ Thank you for showing up for me, for my babies, and for this little business of mine.
Now I suppose I better make good on all that work and turn this mountain into a wedding. 🌲🤍
