The best part of this sunroom? You can use it year-round.

We built this screened porch with Sunspace Sunrooms - Interior BC windows that raise and lower independently, so the space works on a breezy September evening and also in February. A double-sided fireplace runs between the porch and the den, which means one fire warms both rooms depending on where everyone ends up.

Troy and Christine came to us wanting a little more deck space off the back of their duplex. What they ended up with was a year-round porch, a deck, and a patio below it.

Upstairs, we built a three-season room designed to stay usable through the winter. The upper windows are from Porch Conversions and snap in and out for easy cleaning. The lower windows are 36-inch ProVia sashes set into a custom PVC frame, providing the needed safety without blocking the view of the field behind the house.

Windows make up about 10% of a home's surface area, but they account for 30 to 40% of the heat a house loses in winter, according to the Department of Energy.

If you notice some rooms are harder to keep warm than others, that's often a sign your windows need to be replaced. It's worth having us come take a look.

You can buy new trim off a shelf, but matching the trim of a house built a century ago is a different story.

This home had beautiful original exterior trim, but only in some spots. Rather than wrapping the whole house in something new and call it close enough, our carpenters milled the missing profiles on site to match what was already there. Stand back and you can’t tell where the old work ends and ours begins.
