JCJ Architecture

JCJ Architecture JCJ Architecture is a nationally-recognized planning, architecture and interior design leader.

Since 1936, JCJ Architecture has built a practice on the union of business and art; an integration that combines our rigorous methods of management, the high standards of design and execution our projects achieve, and the kind of service our clients require and deserve. To be of service and value to our clients, we have developed a keen understanding of their respective businesses, of the challenges they face, and of their aspirations. We approach each project with extensive knowledge of its context and purpose, and with open and inquiring minds. Our experience does not give us predetermined answers—it enables us to ask the right questions. JCJ Architecture's teams of specialists focus on certain project types and execute them exceptionally well. Each of our core markets – education, hospitality, mixed-use, public safety, corporate, performing arts, -- is led by a nationally-renowned director supported by a depth of knowledge within our studios that allows us to provide focused expertise across the country. JCJ has launched a WELL-Environment Strategies Team, which will focus on implementing the WELL Building Standard®, the first protocol of its kind to focus on the health and wellness of occupants within the built environment. This standard identifies specific design strategies, performance targets, and operational policies that can enhance health and well-being when holistically integrated into building architecture and design. This team is led by three of the world's first Provisional WELL APs, professionally trained at the Cleveland Clinic.

As JCJ Architecture celebrates 90 years of bringing people together, we’re proud to recognize the people who are shaping the next generation of our profession.

Through our NCARB/ARE and NCIDQ study groups at JCJ, emerging architects and interior designers find more than resources to prepare for licensure. They find mentorship, encouragement, shared knowledge, and a community of peers committed to helping one another succeed.

A special thank you to Jacob Evraets, AIA, WELL AP, and Megan Lamontagne, NCIDQ, for their leadership and dedication to these groups. Their commitment to coaching, mentorship, and professional growth makes a meaningful difference in helping our team members reach their goals. These efforts truly move the needle when it comes to licensure at JCJ, strengthening both individual careers and our collective future. Recent efforts helped JCJ be recognized as 2026 AIA New England Components, Emerging Professional Friendly Firm and AIA Oklahoma 2027 AXP Friendly Firms.

With this, we also want to recognize and thank Emily Czarnecki, NCIDQ, who previously led the NCIDQ study group, and Jessica Barrow, NCIDQ, who continues to support the group today, along with the former ARE study group leaders whose contributions helped build these programs into what they are today. Their collective dedication reflects the lasting impact of mentorship and the importance of investing in one another’s success.

At JCJ, we are investing in the next generation of architects and interior designers by creating opportunities for mentorship, supporting professional growth, and empowering our people to achieve their goals.

We’re proud to share that JCJ was recently recognized with two awards by AIA New England.

The Ellis Block received a Citation Award for Excellence in Architecture in the Multi-Family Housing category. The adaptive reuse project transforms a former industrial site into 154 affordable rental units for seniors, working professionals, and families, while preserving elements of the site’s industrial character and improving the surrounding landscape and public realm.

The AIA New England jury recognized Ellis Block as a compelling example of adaptive reuse and an important model for giving underused sites new purpose.

Doug Roberts, Christine Faverio, Dustin Lombardi, and Susan Bible accepted the award on behalf of JCJ.

JCJ was also recognized as a 2026 AIA New England Components Emerging Professional Friendly Firm, highlighting our commitment to supporting emerging professionals and creating opportunities for the next generation of architects and designers.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to these accomplishments and thank you to AIA New England for recognizing our work!

Project Spotlight: Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks

How can architecture honor a Nation’s heritage while creating a destination for the next generation?

For the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks brings together culture, stories, and the identity of the Tohono O'odham Nation into a fresh and exciting new gaming experience.

Providing master planning, architecture, and interior design services, JCJ drew inspiration from the Nation’s heritage and Southern Arizona’s ecology. Native butterfly species inspired the entry canopy and four distinct gaming environments, each with unique colors, textures, and meaningful design elements. In addition, a dedicated Veterans Honor Wall recognizes tribal members who have served in the military, bringing together cultural identity, thoughtful design, and the Nation’s vision for its community.

As JCJ celebrates 90 years, this project reflects our commitment to Design That Builds Community, with design grounded in the people and places it serves.

For 90 years, JCJ has brought design from concept to reality. That legacy is built on experience, knowledge, and strong relationships that carry projects through construction.

Listen in as JCJ’s Principal/Senior Architect Randy Hull and Senior Associate/Senior Project Architect Brian Stone share their perspectives on Construction Administration, including how JCJ keeps projects aligned with original design intent, what is unique about our approach, what a successful architect-owner-contractor relationship looks like, and why field experience is so important for young designers and architects.

There is no substitute for seeing design decisions translated into built work and learning firsthand how collaboration, communication, and problem-solving shape a project.

We appreciate Randy and Brian for sharing their leadership and insight, and for helping carry that knowledge forward to the next generation. Here’s to 90 years of experience, and to the people carrying it forward!

Introducing JCJ

A new brand identity for JCJ Architecture, 90 years in the making.

In celebration of its 90th anniversary, JCJ Architecture is proud to introduce a new brand identity. As part of this milestone, the firm will now be recognized simply as JCJ.

For nine decades, JCJ has grown alongside the communities, institutions and organizations we serve. That longevity gives our clients confidence that we'll be there from first concept to opening day. And our focus has always been on what comes next.

JCJ is a nationally ranked, 100% employee-owned planning, architecture and interior design firm. We serve public- and private-sector clients from seven offices across the country. Our teams combine deep sector experience with active, informed advocacy, which helps us understand what our clients need today and what they'll need tomorrow.

Our new logo is built from three identical forms, rotated and repeated to create a unified whole. Each form represents one of our core disciplines: planning, architecture and interiors. Each one stands on its own, as clients can work with us on a single discipline. When a project calls for all three, they work together as one.

The result is an identity that honors our history and looks confidently ahead.

Three disciplines.

One integrated practice.

90 years of designing what's next.

As we continue celebrating 90 years of JCJ, we’re excited to spotlight our Las Vegas studio this week.

When it comes to drawing inspiration from Las Vegas, JCJ Interior Designer Catherine Douglass puts it perfectly: “There is an unspoken permission to be really bold with your design.”

For our Las Vegas team, that spirit captures so much of what makes designing in this city unique. Vegas is a place where creativity knows few boundaries, and our team draws inspiration from its diversity, people, culture, history, and unmistakable mix of influences from around the world.

Our studio is located at Evora, a 42-acre mixed-use development designed around a “live, work, play” environment. From beautiful sunrise views and morning coffee to conversations, collaboration, and plenty of creative energy, our studio reflects the city itself: open, dynamic, and always evolving.

That creative spirit extends beyond our projects. Our Las Vegas team is made up of talented individuals who share a passion for creating memorable experiences and finding new ways to bring ideas to life. From sketching and storytelling to modeling, collaboration, and hands-on exploration, creativity is part of our everyday process. This spirit of experimentation and collaboration continues to push our team to explore new ideas and approaches, resulting in work that has been recognized for its design excellence, including three consecutive years of NEWH Las Vegas Chapter TopID recognition.

As we look back on 90 years of People, Projects & Places, our Las Vegas studio is a great example of how JCJ continues to evolve while staying true to what has always driven us: talented people, meaningful collaboration, and a passion for design that makes an impact.

Here’s to the people, projects, and places that make JCJ Las Vegas one of a kind.
