From first fridays to fall festivals and races, we are busy during these autumn weekends! Last weekend, 28 members of our team attended 8 of the events we sponsored across Greater Philadelphia, half of whom helped to work the Delco 10 miler. Most of the events we sponsor and attend are put on by other organizations and we are grateful to be a small part of them, but a handful of events each year we have a greater investment and role in, including the Delco 10 Miler.
A MAJOR shout out to Kevin J Nolan who served as volunteer race director, putting in countless hours alongside the wonderful Diana Shacklock from Visit Delco, PA, to pull off a safe, fun event for participants while raising funds for Delaware County nonprofits 🎉
An event like this takes such a massive effort from so many people. We’re blown away by the number of volunteers who gave their time and enthusiasm to make it happen, including our folks who helped with starting corals, bus loading, porta potty pickups, lead car, navigation, and served as course marshals. Colleen and Claire Nolan joined Diana to pick through all of the water station trash the following day, pulling out compostable cups and recycling and managing to reduce the waste to only 1.5 bags of actual trash! Thank you to Mother Compost for working with us on composting the water cups.♻️
Well done to all for a successful second year of this cool event!👏
