To celebrate National 4-H Week, 107 Jeff Davis 5th grade 4-H'ers participated in a Clover Coloring Contest. This year's theme was America 250. Check out the top 10 winners! National 4-H Week is an annual celebration of America's largest youth development organization.

Junior Conference will be held the weekend of November 14-15, 2027, at Rock Eagle for all 7-8th graders. The theme this year is "4-H Heroes Assemble!" Registration costs $100. Jeff Davis 4-H provides opportunities for youth to learn by doing in the focus areas of agriculture, science, civic engagement, leadership, health, and wellness. Youth can participate in 4-H through in-school and after-school programs, community events, project work, and summer camping experiences. Adult mentors provide guidance and encourage 4-H’ers to take on proactive leadership roles as they work to make the best better. Your voluntary feedback is an important part of evaluating and improving our program. This survey is designed to help us understand the program's strengths, identify areas for improvement, and determine how well the program meets participants' needs and expectations. Yesterday, Jeff Davis 4-H had their first Clovers After School of the year! First, the group cleaned up litter and picked weeds at the Veterans Square Park with our friends from the Jeff Davis County Veterans Association. Afterwards, the 4-H'ers enjoyed an Ice Cream Social courtesy of the kind people at Farm Bureau and played some fun group games.

The next Clovers After School for 5th and 6th graders will be October 21st at the 4-H office from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Be sure to call the 4-H office at (912) 375-6648 to sign up.

Ice Cream! Ice Cream! We all scream for ice cream.

Our first Clovers After School for 5th - 6th graders will be on Tuesday, September 22nd, at the 4-H Office from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. 7-12th graders are welcome as teen leader volunteers. See you there!

You’re invited to Burke County Extension Office Forest Carbon Workshop!

Are you a Georgia forest landowner interested in learning more about forest carbon? Join them for a free, one-day workshop covering the basics of forest carbon, forest carbon markets, and opportunities and considerations for Georgia forest landowners.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, September 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Burke County Office Park Auditorium in Waynesboro, GA 30830.

CLE Category B: 4.0 hours and CFE Category 1: 4.0 credit hours available. Lunch will be provided!

It is time to prepare for Georgia National Fair 4-H Contests. This year your 4-H'er can participate in 4-H Recycling, 4-H Decorated Agricultural Product Exhibit, or 4-H Terrarium/Dish Garden Exhibit. If you are interested in having a project in the Georgia National Fair, please come by the 4-H office to fill out an entry form and receive the project guidelines. Entry forms are due by September 11th, and the Fair Entry Exhibit is due to the 4-H office by Sept. 18th. If you have any questions, call the 4-H Office at (912) 375-6648.

We will be hosting Peanut Maturity Clinics at Davis Farm & Garden on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until noon, beginning September 8th. Please bring peanut vines so we can access any issues with peg strength or disease. If you have any questions, call Jennifer at (912) 253-5356.
