As your local irrigation experts, we know a thing or two about efficient systems that move water where you want it - and move it away from where you don't. Summer rain showers can bring pools and puddles to your yard, putting your property at risk of overwatering in some areas and underwatering in others.

Your irrigation system should do more than just turn on and off. Smart controllers adjust automatically to weather and conditions, delivering the right amount of water at the right time. That means less waste, lower bills, and a lawn that always looks its best.

A quick check can go a long way. Over time, small issues like leaks or misaligned heads can quietly waste water and drive up your bill. A professional inspection helps your system run more efficiently—so your lawn looks great without the extra cost.

Over the past few months, we’ve been running real-world Distribution Uniformity studies across North Houston irrigation systems.

That means catch cans in the lawn, water meter readings before and after, actual gallons measured, and real reports showing where the water is going.

So far, across 7 measured studies, we’ve identified:

266,970 gallons of projected seasonal water savings
210 sprinkler heads represented
Up to 73% water reduction in one study
Multiple systems where the real issue was design, spacing, or head placement, not just watering time

The biggest takeaway?

Water savings is not just about watering less.

It’s about applying water more evenly, using the right hardware, and fixing coverage problems before they waste thousands of gallons.

This summer, our goal is to help North Houston homeowners identify 1,000,000 gallons of potential irrigation water savings.

Meet Peggy — one of our longest-running customers and the second home in our distribution uniformity study this season.

Peggy trusted us to do something most homeowners have never had done: actually measure how efficiently her irrigation system delivers water to the turf. Not guess. Not estimate. Measure.

Her system came in at 54% distribution uniformity — solid, because we've been maintaining it for years. After upgrading to PSN nozzles, that number went up and her projected seasonal water use dropped by about 20%.

That's what regular maintenance buys you. A system that's already ahead of the curve — and still has room to improve.

We're running DU studies for existing customers this season for $150, which includes upgrading one full zone with PSN nozzles. Limited slots available.

Drop a 💧 in the comments if you want to know what your system's score might be. Or call us at 832-404-2190.

Most homeowners assume if nothing's broken, the system is working. But "working" and "efficient" are two very different things. We ran a distribution uniformity test on a 3-year-old system in North Houston — the results were eye-opening. 💧

182,000 gallons vs. 110,000 gallons — same system, same run schedule, just different nozzles. That's over 70,000 gallons saved in a single irrigation season just by swapping to high-efficiency spray nozzles.
Depending on your water rate, that's potentially hundreds of dollars back in your pocket — and it's a one-time upgrade. 💰
If you want to know what your system's efficiency looks like, give us a call.

This is going to get ugly as we roll into summer. Keeping a yard and garden green is already expensive,-now we are just pouring more money into the ground.

What most people don't realize is a lot of that water (60-70%) isn't doing anything useful. Bad coverage, misting, runoff...you're paying for water that never makes it to the roots.

We see it all the time.

Before you just crank up the time on your irrigation system to compensate, it might be worth figuring out how efficiently it's actually watering. Sometimes its not about using more water - it's about using it better.

Houston increased water and sewer rates this week, raising the average monthly bill by 7.87%, according to Houston Public Works. The April 1 increase includes a 1.37% hike based on inflation and a 6.5% increase tied to a five-year rate plan adopted by City Council in 2021.

This is a good example of what we call a “ghost leak.”
The customer noticed water pooling in the yard, but there were no obvious signs of where the issue was coming from.
After isolating the system and digging down, we found a pinhole leak buried well below the surface.
Problems like this can be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms don’t always point directly to the source.
If your water usage is increasing or something in your yard doesn’t seem right, it’s often worth taking a closer look—hidden issues like this are more common than most people realize.
