It’s more than selecting beautiful fixtures.

Our Coton House design team spent three days with hansgrohe and AXOR at their Aquademie, exploring everything from product engineering and manufacturing to shower technology, functionality, and design.

Understanding what goes on behind the walls is just as important as selecting the finishes you see every day.

Experiences like these help us make more informed recommendations, collaborate more effectively with our builders, and create beautiful spaces that perform just as well as they look.

Our new presentation area at the Coton House Design Studio was thoughtfully designed for collaboration, creativity, and all the details that make a project come together.

From reviewing finish selections and design concepts to meeting with homeowners, builders, and industry partners, we’re excited to welcome you into a space that reflects how we work and what we love to do.

A little bit of everything we love: warm wood tones, beautiful contrast, and a spacious layout that feels like a retreat.

It’s all about the balance. Natural wood cabinetry and dark countertops add warmth and contrast against the clean, light finishes.

A dedicated space for getting ready. ✨ Custom cabinetry, generous storage, and a seated makeup vanity make the everyday routine a little more luxurious.

Great homes come together when the builder and designer are truly working as a team.

At 5409 Chevy Chase, Coton House partnered with Derek James Homes to create a cohesive collection of residences designed to feel both beautiful and marketable.

Our role focused on the finish selections throughout the project, working alongside the builder to thoughtfully coordinate the materials, colors, fixtures, and details that help each home feel intentional while still allowing future homeowners to envision themselves living there.

Laurie and James sat down at the project to talk about the builder + designer relationship, why collaboration matters, and how having the right team in place can make all the difference throughout the building process.

And we’re excited to share that one of the four residences has already sold, with three still available.

We’re honored to share that Coton House took home a Ruby Award at this year’s ASID Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Ruby Awards! ✨

For our team, this recognition represents more than a beautiful finished space. It celebrates the thought, creativity, collaboration, and attention to detail that go into every layer of the design process.

We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the clients, builders, trades, and industry partners who trust us to bring these projects to life.

It was also a wonderful evening celebrating alongside so many talented members of Houston’s design community. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients!

Here’s to continuing to create spaces that are as thoughtful as they are beautiful.

From plans and samples to installs and final details, every layer is part of creating a home that feels intentional, cohesive, and completely considered.

The process may not always be pretty. The result should be.

A bathroom comes together through far more than choosing a beautiful tile.

For this space, Coton House curated the fixed finishes and specifications, including the cabinetry design and finish, countertops, tile, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, mirrors, paint, grout and tile edging.

Each selection was considered in relation to the next, creating a cohesive material palette and a clear design direction throughout the space.

Thoughtful selections are what turn individual materials into a finished design.
