If you’ve ever wondered why your renovation estimate varied vastly from remodels that we have featured in the past; here are a few factors that come into play.
Cosmetic updates v. full reno is probably the most significant cause. If you are just changing countertops, flooring, cabinets and fixures, you will see a huge price difference than if you were to move walls, plumbing,electrical,etc.
Specialty materials will certainly raise your price point. Cabinet quality, tile selection and fixtures are just a few areas where we see a significant range in prices.
Permits and inspections, if necessary, both require additional costs to your project.
So remember, compare the project scope, materials, labor, etc., not just the cost estimate.
