Witchy dinner was this weekend and this year’s theme was a coven casino night!
I don’t have enough characters here to go over every detail, so I’m going to move directly to the gambling element since that was really the special part. I do want to say though that I made a snickerdoodle pear cobbler with a vanilla bean rosemary ice cream that was one of the best things I ever made and I am damn proud.
I planned for a few different games, but we ended up just playing Texas hold up, or what I called “The Hand of Fate.” Instead of poker chips, I made bags of magical currency. I did beads, feathers, tumble, keys, charms, runes and crystals, all of which were worth different amounts. I also included two tarot cards in each person‘s bag from the major Arcana. One card was a fortune card, which would be a good thing for yourself. They were all different, so some examples were the hangman would be a card to change your perspective, so you got to switch hands with another player at the table. Then the second card was a misfortune card that you could use to curse another player. So, if you had Temperance you could use that to balance the playing field a bit and make the richest player give to the poorest. It was so fun and we had so many laughs and then the person who had the most magical currency in the end won a grand prize. The grand prize was a box I put together of abundance related crystals and gifts.
