Loaded down for the Good Earth Landscaping & Garden Shoppe of Lake Charles, Louisiana Fall Fest tomorrow. I'll be set up 9-3, but I'll be there early to get a good spot. I say it over and over that fall is the best time to plant, and way too few people take advantage of that.

Send me home with an empty truck so I can have some room to start seeds this winter. I have 50 types I want to try out!

Here's a list of what I'm bringing (yep, that's Big Bluestem from seed!):

Potted plants:
American Aloe Agave, Lance leaf Coreopsis, Elephant's Foot, Ashy Sunflower, Prairie Blazing Star, Slender Rosinweed, Wrinkle Leaf Goldenrod, Missouri Ironweed, Golden Canna, Rattlesnake Master, Aquatic Milkweed, Big Bluestem, Sideoats Grama, Yellow Indiangrass, Eastern Gammagrass, Indigo Bush, Mamou/Coralbean, Bush Indigo, Buttonbush, TX Star Hibiscus, Swamp Rose Mallow, Salt Marsh Mallow, Big Momma Turk's Cap, Clustered Bushmint, Narrow Leaf Mountain Mint, Blue Sage, American Beautyberry

Seed packs:
Bush Indigo, Prairie Blazing Star, Southern Rough Coneflower, Black-Eyed Susan, Sweet Coneflower, Texas Coneflower, Slender Rosinweed, Louisiana Canna, Golden Canna, Rattlesnake Master, Sideoats Grama, White Wild Indigo, Yellow Wild Indigo, Swamp Rose Mallow

Two things coming up this weekend: the LA Grass Roots screening in Sulphur tonight and the Good Earth Fall Fest in South Lake Charles Saturday.

At the screening there will be a Q/A session and a social with refreshments, plants, and seeds.

At the Fall Fest there will be a hunch of vendors and I’ll be there with some larger-than-usual-plants (if you’re used to what I have in the spring) that are ready for fall planting.

We’ll be at Good Earth this weekend for their fall fest; it’ll be BIG! They’ve helped us a lot over the years. I can tell you it’s the best place to get a good deal on nice fancy pots, and they are apparently the porch goose hub of South Louisiana. Come by Saturday, or just stop by any time.

Come see me next weekend at Good Earth Landscaping & Garden Shoppe of Lake Charles, Louisiana. I'll have some bigger plants that are ready for fall planting, the best time to get natives in the ground. I'll have some new seed packs ready by then, too.
