Behind the scenes of our Hidden Shore Remodel, featuring a little look at what we’re envisioning for the reading nook tucked into this dormer 📔💭

The pieces that make a room.

This week’s Well Found is a little different. We’re talking about the art of sourcing and how the right combination of pieces can bring an entire space together.

From the softness of linen lighting to the character of reclaimed wood, it’s often the mix of materials, textures, and unexpected details that makes a room feel collected rather than decorated.

I’ve gathered a few of my favorite finds to help you bring this feeling into your own home.

Comment ROOM and I’ll send the full collection your way.

Working with Mae Proper is about so much more than a before and after. It’s about the entire experience of creating a home.

We believe good design goes hand in hand with a thoughtful process. From start to finish, we’re here to advocate for you, guide you through the decisions big and small, and make sure you feel informed and supported along the way.

Clear communication, collaboration, and attention to detail are at the heart of how we work. Our goal is not only to create a beautiful home, but to make the experience of getting there just as meaningful.

Whether you’re local to us or your project requires travel, we’re currently welcoming projects both near and far.

If you’ve been on the fence about reaching out, consider this your sign. We’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.

Let’s create something special together.

A first look at the design direction for our Hidden Shore remodel. Rooted in earthy tones, natural materials, and the warmth that feels so distinctly Mae Proper.

Renderings to come, but this one felt too good not to share a little early.

Well Found | Coffee Table Styling

A little layering, a few beautiful books, and pieces that bring some personality to the table. Coffee table styling is one of my favorite ways to make a space feel more collected and lived in.

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite finds at approachable price points.

October, the month that makes coming home feel a little sweeter.

There’s something about this time of year that brings back the art of noticing. The leaves changing almost overnight. The light shifting earlier. A familiar drive suddenly looking completely different. The little rituals at home that we naturally return to.

Maybe that’s the beauty of October. It doesn’t ask us to do more, it simply makes us pay attention again. 🍂

WELL FOUND | AREA RUGS

The kind of piece that quietly sets the tone for an entire room.

This week’s Well Found is all about area rugs, with a collection of 8x10s under $600 that feel far more considered than their price point. Think warm wool, subtle pattern, vintage inspired details, and a little color mixed in.

Because finding an affordable rug is easy. Finding one that actually looks good is another story.

Comment RUGS and I’ll send you everything I found.

There are quite a few new faces here, and it’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself. So, consider this a few pages from my journal.

I’ve shared a lot of the work here over the years, but maybe not as much of the story behind it.

A little look back at where design first found me, the ideas that turned into something more, the people who have been part of it, and a few of the things that make me, me.

It’s funny looking back and realizing how much of where you are now was quietly taking shape all along.

Whether you’ve been here for years or just recently found your way here, I’m really glad you’re here. 🤎

xx, Caity
