Haley was the designer on this project and I assisted her! The client said she likes KU, flowers, butterflies and hidden mickey ears. I think it turned out so cute!

I loved this project!! It was so much fun getting to paint something a little different than what I normally get asked to paint!

Also, you HAVE to check out The Break Pad in Concordia!! She has the cutest little shop with succulents and all the fun accessories to make your own little pot! She also offers paint classes!

So if you’re ever passing through Concordia, be sure to stop by The Break Pad! Take a picture with the wings, but don’t forget to go inside and check out her cute little shop too!!

Many of you have asked me to travel to your towns to paint, and I’ve had to turn down more opportunities than I would like. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that I simply can’t take every job. So, when I do choose a project, it’s usually because there’s something special about it, a personal connection, or simply a subject that I’m really excited to paint!

Every town has its own story, and so do the reasons I end up painting there.

Spearville was an easy yes because painting a dome sounded like such a fun challenge! It was a canvas unlike anything I had painted before.

Atwood was special because a 15-year-old girl wanted me to paint a mural for her Eagle Scout project. How could I say no to that?

Scott City was a given. It’s my hometown, and there’s something pretty special about leaving a little piece of my artwork in the place where I grew up.

And Phillipsburg? Well, one of my nieces, Krissa, lives there! It’s always a little more fun to work in a town where I have family.

Over time, I’ve realized that it’s not about how many jobs I can take or how many towns I can paint in. It’s about choosing projects that bring me joy, challenge me creatively, or have a special meaning.

And those are the projects that make me love what I do! ❤️🎨

The weather during this project was all over the place!! Over 90 for a few days, then cold and rainy, not to mention a couple of days being sick. Then to finish it off with the perfect weather for painting! Fall in Kansas!
