📆 Coming up next on our Calendar...

David will be speaking to the Orchid Society of Kansas City this Sunday at 3pm!!
He has chosen an Orchid Family that he is very fond of and has grown for several years, the Catasetum Alliance. Consisting of Catasetums, Cycnoches, Mormodes, and Clowesia; he will touch on cultural care, flower patterns, and the dormancy process. This will be a great educational event and there will also be plants available for sale!!!

🧡 It's October 1st friends, are you 'Chilling' your Orchids??
Here in the Midwest, Fall is the perfect time to achieve this process. Phalaenopsis (Moth Orchid) need a 15-20° change in temperature 🌡 from night to day consistently for 3-4 weeks to trigger a new (primary) flower spike.
Placing the plant on your porch (in the shade), in a spare bedroom with a window open, or somewhere the Orchid feels like it needs a blanket in the evenings-are all good options to 'chill' it. Don't freeze it or really let it go below 45-50°.
This will slighty stress the plant, initiate a new spike at the bottom of the Orchid, and you will have flowers by Valentines Day!!

🍁 Fall Schedule 🍁

Here is a list of this year's Fall Events!!!

First up, the Gesneriad Society is putting on a nice Show & Sale this Saturday from 9-2pm!!
Although we wont be there selling our plants, the Society will have some of our Gesneriads available for sale. Remember those 'Pretty Turtle Primulinas' we had at the Markets this Summer!?? Those are part of the Gesneriad Plant Family!! There are so many different varieties of Gesneriads and some make great Houseplants!
Go check them out on Saturday!

*As a reminder, we have completed our Market season and will no longer be selling at the three market locations! Come find us this Fall at the events listed below 👇

Our FINAL weekend of our 2026 Market Season is upon us! 🙌
We plan on offering 'a deal of the day' (each market spot will be a different item), feature a beautiful deep red cockscomb Celosia-perfect for Fall, and say farewell to all our buddies, customers, and vendor friends! ❤️ Untill next year!

We are taking some time off in October to work on some Fall projects, spend time with family & friends, and recharge before our next round of events-which begin at the end of October.

Our booths are often filled with family members, long time friends, and people that have endured the market grind year after year. Reflecting on this past season, it was a WILD one. Taking on a third market location, transitioning to a brand new Overland Park Market spot mid-season, all while continuing to grow high quality plants for you all!
Those 4am wake up calls every single weekend for the past 6 months is a reflection of dedication, a deep passion for plants, and true grit.

🖤 Black Orchids 🖤

●This weekend at the Markets we are setting up a 'Collectors Corner'! This section of plants will include the always popular Black Orchids in bud (Monn. 'Witchcraft'), some Super Variegated Vanilla Orchids, and a newish Dracena called 'White Jewel'!!! 🪴
In addition to some other goodies that are perfect to add to your plant collection!!

● SATURDAY AT: Overland Park Farmers Market from 7:30-1pm & City Market from 8-3pm

● SUNDAY AT: City Market from 8-3pm

● NO Lee's Summit Market this weekend but back to this location next week.

🥦 It's National Farmer's Market Week and we wanted to recognize some of our Farmers Market Customers. We dont say this enough, we love our customers! Especially ones that have supported us all 25 years in business, visited us back in the Caves, and continually shop local by traveling to the markets for our plant selection!
