Alright friends, here’s your annual PSA to bring your tropicals on inside before Thursday or Friday night at the latest.
While it will warm back up for a bit after that, it is best to make sure your tropicals are not in temps below 50 degrees for hours on end, so we wanted to go ahead and give you a few tips to keep in mind.
When bringing your plants in, use the opportunity to look for and treat for any hitchhikers you may not want to come in on the foliage.
We like to start with a good hose-down if you have one handy.
Next, give the tops and bottoms and nooks n crannies a close look for any other pests that need treated.
Heavily spraying down then wiping leaves with neem oil or insecticidal soap can help kill any pests that might not be as easily seen. (One word of caution, neem oil can often make foliage sensitive to direct sunlight, so after it dries, bring it in).
Another helpful treatment is using Systemic Granules which help treat for pests like mealy bugs, scale, fungus gnats and more.
If you have any questions, need extra tips or would like some recommendations for grow lights, humidifiers or more, feel free to stop in or call/text our shop line at 816-305-1510—we are happy to help!
Watch til the end for a Burt surprise!
