Ten years of dreaming, planning, and Pinterest boards… and once my husband and I finally decided to bring this little design-build project to life, it was finished in just ONE WEEK! 🤍

And we couldn’t be happier with the result.

As we head into the colder months, I’m a big believer in the art of nesting. There’s something so satisfying about creating a home that truly works for the way you live.

It doesn’t have to mean a renovation or a big investment. Sometimes it’s simply decluttering, reorganizing a closet, rearranging furniture, or finally tackling that little project you’ve been putting off.

A little glimpse into my mornings in Maine.

Before the emails, appointments, sourcing, design projects, and everything else that comes with running LUXE, there’s a little time to simply enjoy being home.

I’m happiest surrounded by the things we’ve collected over the years. Antiques, art, beautiful objects, and all the little details that make our home uniquely ours.

I’ve always believed that a home should be a reflection of the people who live in it, filled with things they love and memories of where they’ve been.

It’s the same philosophy that inspires everything I do at LUXE CURATIONS.

I think I might be going through a breakup… with a piece of furniture. 🤍

After more than 10 years, six homes and apartments, and countless rearrangements, I decided it was time to let this piece go.

And now that it’s sold? I’m having serious separation anxiety.

The funny thing is, I know it’s the right decision. It no longer makes sense for our home or the way we live today. But knowing something is right doesn’t necessarily make it easy.

When you spend your life collecting beautiful things, some of them become more than just objects. They become part of your story. They move with you, adapt with you, and quietly witness all the different versions of your life.

So yes, I’m mourning a piece of furniture. A little ridiculous? Probably. But I suspect my fellow collectors and design lovers will understand.

Please tell me I’m not the only person who has ever regretted selling something before it even left the house.

The trouble with having an eye for interiors? Sometimes you get tired of looking at perfectly good furniture.

So, naturally, I sold a piece I was convinced I was ready to part with.

Except… I actually love it.

And it turns out, that not-quite-perfect piece was quietly solving about six different storage problems in my house.

Now I have to figure out where everything is going before the new owner comes to pick it up.

A classic case of the designer becoming her own most difficult client.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has redecorated herself into a problem. 🤍 LUXE

An unexpected Philadelphia appointment today. 🤍

One of the loveliest things about sharing these pieces is never quite knowing where it will lead. She saw my post from Philadelphia, reached out, and today we’re styling a few of her family’s antique watch chains—pieces that have already lived a life and are ready to be worn in a new way.

And somehow, doing it here at The Bellevue, surrounded by so much history, feels especially fitting.

This is the part I love most: discovering what’s already there, looking at it differently, and creating something that still feels entirely personal.

Yesterday reminded me why I love doing this so much.

We made so many wonderful connections at Frances Elle, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who came in, spent time with the collection, shared a story, and ultimately chose something to make their own.

There is nothing I love more than watching someone discover a piece that means something to them.

Yesterday, it was the woman whose father had been a scrimshaw artist, who immediately connected with an extraordinary carved whale-tooth pendant.

It was the woman who chose vintage watches for herself and each of her three daughters.

It was the woman who found a piece that brought her straight back to one she had seen in Europe nearly 30 years ago.

It was the woman who has visited my Maine pop-ups for the past few years, admiring the watch-chain necklaces each time, who finally found the one that felt like hers.

And it was the woman who suddenly realized she already had the beginnings of something extraordinary at home: her grandmother’s antique watch chain and a necklace that had also belonged to her grandmother. We made an appointment to bring the two together and create something she can wear now — while keeping both pieces of her family history close.

Those moments are the heart of what I do. The jewelry may carry its own history, but the most beautiful part is watching someone recognize a piece, connect with it, and begin adding their own chapter.

We’ll be back at Frances Elle in Kennebunkport today, Sunday, from 11–4, and I cannot wait to do it all again.
