The store will be closed tomorrow, October 3, due to the parking lot and driveway being muddybecause the parking lot and driveway are. I thought we would be good to go this morning, but then another round of rain came, and now it's horrible. Everyone is sure to get stuck, including me, just walking out to the shop.

Say hi to Kelly! Something stole the rest of her siblings, so she is now my indoor pig. At least until the storms pass and I get her momma situated someplace more secure. Don't worry, momma won't dry up because she has older half-siblings who will make sure of that.

We have a threat of a deluge of rain. I am skeptical because we always get missed here, but we really need at least 3 inches to close up the inch-wide cracks on the ground. I have everybody prepped and ready. Now we wait for the emergencies to arise.

I predict the store will be closed again on Saturday because I don't want anyone stuck in the parking lot. Our soil/clay turns into a horrible slippery mess quickly, and two inches is all it takes for it to be a struggle around here. If I had video of every time I fell in the mud out here, I would have a viral hit on my hands. If, by some miracle, we are totally missed and we aren't a sloppy mess, I will let you know.

@ Things definitely didn’t go according to plan! Let’s just say proofing temperature makes a difference, and I forgot that our house warms up overnight since we use mini-splits in the bedroom. The loaves taste good but look a bit rough, so they’ll serve as my samples for all the spreads today.

This week has been full of autumn flavors. With everyone, including me, making sourdough nonstop, I decided to create a few seasonal spreads to enjoy with the bread. I prepared Apple butter, Pumpkin butter, Fig butter, Cinnamon Honey Whipped butter, and Amish peanut butter. You’ve probably heard of all of them except Amish peanut butter. It’s made by whipping peanut butter until it's light, smooth, and easy to spread on fresh sourdough.

Stop by on Saturday for fresh traditional sourdough, sourdough croissant bread, and all these delicious spreads to pair with them!

Woohoo! It's Saturday and the farm stand is packed with goodies!

Not only do we have traditional sourdough, but we also have sourdough croissant bread. It's made with layers of butter that melt into the bread, creating beautiful layers and an incredible buttery flavor. The bottom crust soaks up all that butter and is my absolute favorite part.

If you are a sourdough lover, try our sourdough pancake mixes. They include dehydrated sourdough starter and make the fluffiest, most delicious pancakes. Choose from regular or pumpkin spice.

Want your own sourdough friend? We also have packets of dehydrated sourdough starter so you can bring one to life in your own kitchen and make the best breads and goodies.

For a good old-fashioned sweet treat, we have homemade apple pie muffins, Amish sugar cookies, and pumpkin snickerdoodles. The apple pie muffins combine apple pie filling with a crumble-topped muffin. Pumpkin snickerdoodles take a favorite cookie and make it even better with pumpkin. Our Amish sugar cookies are a copycat version of the dreamy buttermilk sugar cookies from Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury, Indiana.

Fall can't get here fast enough, so we've already started decorating and stocking the shelves with autumn goodies. We have mulling spice blends for apple c***r and hot mulled w**e, plus simmer pot kits in apple pie and orange spice.
