LGA was honored to attend the ribbon cutting for Sterchi Elementary School this morning. As Architect of Record, LGA designed transformative additions, renovations, and site improvements for the 1950s-era neighborhood school.

The added 15,300 SF of program includes a new front entry with secure vestibule, new classrooms, a new media center, a new music and art wing, a new administrative suite, and a new special education suite. Renovations totaling nearly 8,000 SF also include gymnasium improvements, new windows, and a new sprinkler system. The project’s site improvements include a new covered drop off, new parking, and underground detention.

Special thank you to our construction partner Merit Construction and everyone on the project team. The students and staff are excited to enjoy the new spaces and renovations!

LGA was honored at last night’s AIA East TN Design Awards Gala with the People’s Choice Award for the second year in a row. Thank you to everyone who voted for ‘A Learning Farm: Grainger Agribusiness Center’!

The unbuilt design work completed for Grainger County Agribusiness Center makes a case for a consolidated beef research and agricultural education outreach facility in the Appalachian foothills of East Tennessee. As a transformation of regional gable-roofed barns, the center creates a research environment for studying up to 500 head of cattle during the stocker, or “backgrounding,” phase of beef production: the period after calves are weaned and before they move to feedlot finishing.

The building’s innovation lies in making an often-hidden phase of the regional food system visible, measurable, and teachable. A common agricultural type becomes a precise environmental and educational instrument for research, animal care, and land stewardship.

Knoxville’s favorite pizza spot is about to get bigger! LGA was asked by the owners of A Dopo Pizza to design a 2,200 SF expansion to their current restaurant, also designed by LGA in 2016.

"The Slice Bar" will offer pizza by the slice, signature cocktails, espresso drinks, and gelato, allowing more people access to their award-winning eats.

LGA is proud to give back to our communities! Managing Principal Doug Caywood once again helped to promote childhood literacy with the Rotary Club of Cleveland at Valley View Elementary School by donating student dictionaries to their third graders.

The new Horace Maynard Middle School in Maynardville, TN officially opened its doors to the public at their ribbon cutting ceremony last night. LGA is proud to have been the Architect of Record on this monumental project, and we enjoyed celebrating the occasion with the community.

Thank you to the Union County School Board, Director of Schools Greg Clay, Principal Jamie D***s, Mayor Jason Bailey, County Commission, Merit Construction, and everyone who helped make this new school a reality for the students and staff of Union County!

Cempa Community Care has officially broken ground on the renovation of their facility in downtown Chattanooga, TN!

LGA attended the ceremony alongside P&C Construction as well as Cempa’s Board of Directors and staff members. This renovation project will include 22,500 SF of exterior and interior renovations, increasing the total number of patient care spaces and providing much-needed repairs and upgrades.
