Such a wonderful trunk show weekend at Peridot Fine Jewelry! đź’Ž
It’s hard to put into words how special it is to show my work in my mother’s store. DawnHendricks opened Peridot when I was 14, and I grew up on its sales floor. So much of what I know about business, beauty, and connecting with people, I learned from her.
The relationship between maker and wearer is something I hold sacred. It humbles me to imagine the pieces I dream up becoming part of someone’s everyday life, resting against their skin, gathering memories, and perhaps one day being passed down. Beautiful objects carry human stories, and getting to meet the people who will wear and love my pieces gives such meaning to what I do.
There’s nowhere I’d rather be than working at her shop on Christmas Eve, when someone walks through the door hoping to find something truly special for someone they love. There’s a kind of magic in those moments that has never worn off for me.
And my mother. Nearly 25 years of building something beautiful, enduring, and entirely her own. I’m in awe of her. A true family business, a little piece of the American dream, and a legacy I’m so proud to be part of. How special that my own children now get to witness that legacy continuing, through my mother’s work and now my own.
Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend, and to my mom, for teaching me that a business can be so much more than a business. It can be a place where people, stories, and love come together.
