I joke that Iโm mostly here because I bought three cute ceramic pots and let the peer pressure ruin my life, but the truth is, Iโm the one who builds the world we're growing in.
I started gardening as a hobby and wanting to do something fun. I would consider myself a Chaos Gardener with a YouTube degree in heavy construction with no machinery use. I donโt always have a strict plan or a spreadsheet, but if I did, ๐ ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฏโ๐ต ๐ง๐ฐ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ช๐ต. When we needed space, I didnโt just plant a seedโI self-taught my way into building almost 0.75 acres of custom garden beds, engineered our support systems, and built our greenhouse from scratch.
While Farmer G is investigating the seeds, flowers, and the birds/insects, Iโm the one building the bones of the operation. That often involves hoarding empty 1-gallon plastic pots for plant starts, trying to look cool in utility overalls, holding a personal grudge against grocery store herb and vegetable prices, and happily spending hours playing with worms, turning compost, discussing soil science, and diving deep into mushrooms.
