Your backyard should be a place you actually want to use. In southern New Mexico and West Texas, a little shade can completely change an outdoor space, especially when the afternoon sun makes an uncovered patio almost unusable. The New Mexico sun is hard on a flat roof. Over time, heat and UV exposure can dry out an aging roof surface and make small cracks, seams, and weak spots more likely to become problems when the rain finally arrives. A properly applied roof coating can add another layer of protection while reflecting more of the sun’s heat away from the roof surface.
