What's your favorite scary plumbing problem? 👻

Around here, even Tub Man gets into the Halloween spirit.

He's been keeping an eye on Route 31, and we're pretty sure he knows what you did to your drains last summer. 🎃🚽

40 years of marriage. Even more years of working side by side. And a lifetime of giving back to their community. ❤️

Last night, MSI founders Lester Giese and Anne Thornton were inducted into the Hunterdon County Business Hall of Fame in the Distinguished Leader category!

Building a successful family business together is an accomplishment in itself, but what makes this recognition so meaningful is everything Anne and Les have done outside of the business, too.

Anne has spent decades supporting local businesses, women in business, and community organizations through her involvement with BW NICE, the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, and countless volunteer initiatives. She's always believed that a strong business community is built by people who show up for one another.

Les has brought that same spirit of service to his work as a co-founder of Hunters Helping the Hungry, an organization that has spent more than 25 years turning donated venison into millions of meals for New Jersey families in need. It's a remarkable example of how one idea, backed by a lot of hard work and community support, can make a lasting difference.

Together, they've built much more than MSI Plumbing & Remodeling. They've built relationships, supported neighbors, created opportunities, and demonstrated what it means to be invested in the community you call home.

A heartfelt thank you to the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce for recognizing Anne and Les and for celebrating the people who help make our community such a special place to live and work.

Please join us in congratulating these two Distinguished Leaders! 👏

Last week we were truly surprised to be honored by ROI-NJ as Family Business of Year.

But as Les, who grew up on a farm, would say: we haven’t gotten too big for our britches! We’re still who you call for a leaky faucet, no heat, or a fabulous new bathroom.

Thank you, ROI-NJ, for recognizing our family, our team, and the work we love doing for our neighbors. ❤️

Some people see an expansion tank. We see a blank canvas. 🎃🔧

Introducing MSI's Expansion Tank-O-Lanterns! Because apparently we can't even look at plumbing equipment without thinking of ways to decorate it.

A little plumbing humor, a little Halloween spirit, and a whole lot of creativity.

Which face is your favorite? 👻

We're celebrating a very special honor for MSI's founder, Les Giese!

This weekend, Les accepted a 2026 New Jersey Governor's Volunteerism Award on behalf of Hunters Helping the Hungry, the nonprofit he helped establish nearly 30 years ago.

Since its founding, HHH has provided millions of nutritious meals to New Jersey families while supporting responsible wildlife management and environmental conservation.

Giving back to the communities we serve has always been part of who we are at MSI, and Les has been leading by example for decades.

We're incredibly proud of him and the entire HHH team for this well-deserved recognition!

Please take a moment to watch their story, and consider following Hunters Helping the Hungry to learn how you can support their mission.

A few more moments from a day we’ll be talking about for a long time. 🏆❤️

Winning ROI-NJ ’s 2026 Family Business of the Year in the under $10 million category was incredible. Getting to hear the histories behind our fellow finalists made the day even more meaningful.

Every family business had its own story of taking chances, navigating tough chapters, and building something the next generation could carry forward. It was wonderful to learn about the people behind these companies and celebrate alongside them:

Cranford Theater
G.S. Wilcox & Co.
Maglione's Italian Ices
Repechage
Valet King
Vibra Screw, Inc.

Different industries, different journeys, and so much we could relate to. Congratulations to all of our fellow finalists, and thank you to ROI-NJ for bringing these family business stories together.

We left with an award and a whole new appreciation for the company we were in.

We’re bringing home a win! 🏆

MSI Plumbing & Remodeling has been named ROI-NJ’s 2026 Family Business of the Year in the under $10 million category!

Founded by Anne Thornton and Lester Giese and now led by their daughter, President Audra Giese, MSI represents two generations of hard work, creativity, and determination.

Behind this award are decades of building a business, working through tough chapters, developing skilled tradespeople, and showing up for our customers and community.

We’re proud of what we’ve built and the team helping us carry it forward.

Thank you to ROI-NJ and the judges for this recognition, our employees for the care they bring to their work, and our customers and community for your continued trust.

Tonight, we’re celebrating! ❤️

Carving pumpkins this fall?

Keep the guts out of the garbage disposal. The stringy pulp can contribute to clogs and turn a fun fall activity into a plumbing call.

Trash or compost the squishy stuff, save the seeds, and roast those instead.

We know disposals, not dinner.

Most toilet cracks are not something to “wait and see” on.

Once porcelain is compromised, the crack can spread and the fixture can fail unexpectedly. That can mean leaks, damage, or very sharp broken porcelain.

So yes, if you see a crack: don’t sit on it.

Ever wonder why the pipe under your sink has that distinctive bend?

That’s the P-trap. It keeps a small amount of water inside the bend, creating a seal that helps keep sewer gas from coming back through the drain.

If a fixture goes unused long enough for the trap to dry out, a mystery smell may be your first clue.
