🔨 DEMO DAY! 🔨

Out with the old and getting ready for the new!

Today I removed the old tile, tub, and drywall behind the tile to make way for a brand new walk in shower. This bathroom was definitely overdue for an update, and I’m taking it all the way back so I can rebuild it the right way from the ground up.

Next up: prepping, waterproofing, and bringing this shower into the 21st century!

Stay tuned for the transformation. 👀

Sometimes a small detail can completely change the look of a space.

Adding a decorative ceiling medallion around this hanging light gave the entryway a more elegant, finished appearance. It’s a simple upgrade, but it adds character, draws attention to the light fixture, and makes the entire entrance feel a little more special.

It’s all in the details—and those details make the difference.

It’s all in the finishing details! This backsplash features small rectangular tiles installed in a classic herringbone pattern. Instead of finishing the exposed edge with a metal Schluter strip, I used a matching bullnose trim piece for a cleaner, more seamless look.

A little extra craftsmanship makes a big difference in the finished project!

✨ From IKEA Components to a Custom Closet! ✨

This closet started with IKEA components, but with a little Rent-a-Papa craftsmanship, it was transformed into a beautiful, custom-looking storage space.

I added custom face frames and drawer fronts to give the cabinets a more finished, built-in appearance. The brushed gold hardware adds an elegant touch, while the integrated LED lighting makes it easy to see and access everything inside.

It’s a great example of how you don’t always need to start from scratch to create something that looks custom. With the right modifications and attention to detail, quality components can be transformed into a space that is both beautiful and functional.

At Rent-a-Papa, I’m always looking for ways to make your home work better while adding those finishing touches that make a project truly yours.

From a dated green bathtub to a beautiful, modern walk-in shower. What a transformation!

This bathroom received a complete makeover featuring elegant Italian porcelain tile, a custom-built niche for storage, and a hidden linear drain that blends seamlessly into the shower floor.

The goal was to create a clean, timeless look while paying attention to the details that make a bathroom feel truly custom.

It’s amazing what the right design, quality materials, and skilled workmanship can do to transform an outdated space into something elegant and functional.

Wallpaper installation may look simple, but getting a professional finish takes precision.

For this project, I used a laser to make sure each wallpaper panel was perfectly plumb before installation. Every cut around outlets, trim, corners, and other obstacles were carefully trimmed for a clean, precise fit.

The right wallpaper can add incredible beauty, texture, and visual interest to a room and proper installation makes all the difference.

Another project where taking the time to do it right creates a finished look that stands out. Rent-a-Papa, built on trust, backed by integrity.

Today I’m excited to share the new look of Rent-a-Papa!

The name Rent-a-Papa has always meant something special to me. It came from my daughter, who owns Airbnb properties. After dealing with handyman work that wasn’t done right, she’d call me and say, “I need to rent a papa.” Growing up in the Netherlands, my children always called me “Papa,” and that simple phrase became the inspiration for the company.

From the beginning, my goal has been to treat every customer like family—providing honest advice, quality workmanship, and the kind of care I’d give in my own home.

My new logo reflects how far I’ve come. It’s cleaner, sleeker, and more modern, but it also represents my commitment to never stop improving. I believe that if you’re not learning, you’re standing still. That’s why I continue investing in ongoing education, the latest tools, and better techniques to deliver the highest quality craftsmanship and the best possible results.

The logo may be new, but the values behind Rent-a-Papa remain exactly the same: integrity, reliability, attention to detail, and treating every project as if it were for family.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with your homes and supported this journey. I’m excited about what the future holds, and I look forward to continuing to earn your trust—one project at a time.

Perfect tile installation starts long before the first tile is set. Every layout on this project was dialed in with laser precision to ensure straight lines, even spacing, and flawless alignment from wall to wall.

Using laser levels throughout the installation guarantees a clean, professional finish that not only looks amazing but lasts for years to come. No uneven rows, no drifting lines — just sharp, consistent craftsmanship.

Attention to detail is what separates a good tile job from a great one. From prep work to final grout lines, every step matters.

Need your bathroom, shower, backsplash, or flooring upgraded with precision craftsmanship? Rent-a-Papa is ready to help. Built on trust. Backed by integrity.
