Happy Octovertime!

Hello—Hello… Is this thing on?… Is anybody out there?

Working late on a framing order for the Cary Memorial Library. Due tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.—and I’m more than grateful for it.

Nights like this’ll leave a wrinkle in your kilt the next morning.

~ 3 down, 12 to go!

Be afraid ~ Be very afraid.

After 40+ years of framing, I’m not spooked by ugly art. What gives me nightmares is something lifelessly under-framed.

I hope you’re scared of all the ordinariness — scared enough to come in and treat yourself to something out of the ordinary.

Fair warning ~ I’m hideous this time of year without a mask.

Sunday Afternoon OFF

14-month-old Oliver takes his first bite out of a 175-year-old heirloom apple from his 65-year-old Papa's hand on a hilltop orchard cultivated for over 300 years.

This time next week, dusk settles early as the fallen go to press—and in winter we'll drink that c***r on my afternoons off.

~ Hold tight the apple nearest the tree.

HAPPY REMEMBERWEEN

I was once a 20-year-old zombie—an art student lost in the fog, searching for brains on the cobblestone streets of New Bedford. Too slow to sn**ch the perfect fit, too dumb to know when I’d found it.

Over time I evolved. — Now, instead of eating brains to survive, I hold my head high and use it to frame for a living. The pay isn’t great, but the work is fulfilling, and I’m frighteningly good at it.

Wall-to-Wallflowers

I just gave a new moulding company 36 square feet of prime real estate in my 650-square-foot frame shop. Front-row, 50-yard-line, ocean-view, southern exposure right inside my front door.

Next time you walk in, you’ll know the familiar scent of Walden Framer—and the intoxicating aroma of fresh possibilities.

~ I love the smell of new corner samples in the morning. 🌸

This Little Light of Mine

Limited-edition commemorative print, plaque, and LED backlit 35mm film cell—matted in sparkling celestial blue and framed in warm yellow gold.

From the original movie about an evil empire in a galaxy far, far away.

~ Shine, you must — See, you will.

OCTOVERTIME

Daylight is shortening and frames are stacking like firewood. No time for leaf-peeping or stargazing—best I can do is strike a match to the stars and frame my way through the night.

At the end of the day, some are drawn to the heat, some to the light, some to the smoke — others, the kilt.

*Walk-ins welcome. ~ Even after dark. 🌛
