Griffith Designs Indoor and Outdoor Living

Apparently the new backyard has officially been approved by the Ken Caryl locals. 🐻😂

One of our Ken Caryl Valley clients had a little visitor stop by to inspect the new landscape — and apparently he wanted the FULL tour.

This backyard was completely transformed by Griffith Designs Indoor & Outdoor Living, including the hardscape, outdoor kitchen, new lawn and landscaping. Seeing a space we created being lived in is always fun… although this particular guest wasn’t exactly on the invite list. 😂

Living and designing in Ken Caryl means creating beautiful outdoor spaces right alongside Colorado wildlife — sometimes very close alongside it.

Less lawn. More beauty. More purpose. 🌿

For this landscape transformation in the Hamlet neighborhood near Bowles Ave in Littleton, Colorado, we reduced the amount of traditional sod and created a more intentional, Colorado-friendly landscape with:

🌱 Drought-tolerant plants
🪨 Natural boulders for texture and structure
🌳 New trees for shade and long-term interest
💧 Reduced lawn = lower water needs
🌾 Layers of plants designed for color, movement & seasonal interest

Xeriscape doesn’t have to mean a yard full of rock. Thoughtful sod reduction can create a landscape that feels lush, established and beautiful while using significantly less water and requiring less maintenance.

Thinking about reducing your lawn or reworking an outdated landscape? Griffith Designs Indoor & Outdoor Living creates custom landscape designs throughout Littleton, Ken Caryl, Highlands Ranch and the surrounding Denver area.

The best landscapes don’t happen by accident—they’re thoughtfully designed.

This North Ranch at Ken Caryl project wasn’t simply about replacing plants. Every decision was intentional.

🌿 Reducing unnecessary sod to conserve water
🦌 Selecting deer-resistant plants that can withstand local wildlife
💧 Choosing drought-tolerant varieties for Colorado’s climate
🔥 Considering FireWise recommendations
📋 Designing a landscape that meets Ken Caryl HOA requirements
🏡 Creating a landscape that complements the home’s architecture while remaining low-maintenance for years to come

One thing many homeowners don’t realize is that a successful landscape starts long before installation. Understanding the site, the neighborhood, the HOA, irrigation, wildlife, drainage, and your long-term goals makes all the difference between a landscape that simply looks nice today and one that continues to thrive for years.

Because of the summer heat, we intentionally installed smaller plant material. While it may not provide instant gratification, smaller plants often establish stronger root systems and adapt better to Colorado’s challenging climate—setting the landscape up for long-term success.

Whether you’re dreaming of reducing your lawn, creating a beautiful xeriscape, increasing curb appeal, or planning a complete outdoor living transformation, thoughtful planning is the foundation of every successful project.

One of my favorite projects to date! 🌿

This home is a perfect example of what can happen when the interior and exterior are designed as one cohesive living experience.

Working alongside the incredibly talented team at HouseHome and Zach Griffith was such a rewarding collaboration. We designed and installed the landscape, patio, outdoor kitchen, custom iron fencing, planting, irrigation, and outdoor living spaces to complement the stunning remodel and create an outdoor environment that feels just as intentional as the home itself.

This homeowner truly lives both indoors and out, and every detail was designed with that lifestyle in mind.

I love partnering with amazing designers and builders to create beautiful, functional outdoor spaces. Thank you, HouseHome, for trusting Griffith Designs Indoor & Outdoor Living to be part of such an incredible transformation!

We’re incredibly grateful to have partnered with HouseHome on this stunning whole-home renovation and addition in Park Hill.
This project transformed nearly every corner of the property—from gorgeous custom cabinetry in the kitchen, bar area, bathrooms, and built-ins, to a complete fireplace overhaul, new windows, a beautiful gym and spa space, garage renovation, and thoughtfully designed outdoor living areas.
Our team was honored to contribute the landscape design and installation, including new plantings, patio spaces, and a custom pergola that help extend the home’s beauty and functionality outdoors.
Projects like this are only possible when talented teams come together with a shared vision. Thank you, HouseHome, for the opportunity to collaborate on such an incredible transformation. We loved being part of bringing this home to life!
