Morris L Hallowell IV - Architectural Ironwork

Morris L Hallowell IV - Architectural Ironwork I specialize in custom ironwork of relatively robust construction. My products are designed to perform a function, not simply to be art for art's sake.

Rather than decorating surfaces or incorporating images of existing animal or objects, my goal is to achieve grace of line, balance of proportion, and to show the material as an end in itself. They should be handsome to behold, but they should do something. Whether it be the knocker on your front door, handrails on your stairs or tools for your fireplace, I can craft something you will be proud to own and to use for generations. I am drawn to strong, simple design forms in which the construction joinery is the inherent decoration rather than fancy forms where decoration is added and ultimately confuse one's subliminal comprehension of the construction of the piece. Custom blacksmith work is gladly undertaken. I prefer one-of-a kind projects to production work. I can create a finished piece to your concept, to your specific design or to mine.
