❤️ **THERE IS LIFE AFTER AN ORGAN TRANSPLANT. NEVER STOP FIGHTING!** ❤️
I was recently contacted by NewsBreak, who asked me a few questions about my life and my business, Cache Lock & Key. They took those answers and wrote an article about my journey. I wanted to share it because there's a message behind my story that I hope reaches someone who needs to hear it.
In June 2019, my life changed forever. What started with a heart attack eventually led to a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, nearly two months in the ICU, and a 13-hour heart transplant.
There were times when I didn't know if I would ever make it home, let alone have the opportunity to pursue my dreams.
But I'm still here. ❤️
**And if there's one thing I want other organ transplant recipients, patients waiting for a transplant, and their families to know, it's this:**
**YOUR LIFE DOES NOT END WITH AN ORGAN TRANSPLANT.**
In many ways, it's an opportunity for a new beginning.
You've been given a second chance at life. Make the most of it! Find something you're passionate about, something that gives you purpose, and find a way to make it happen.
Don't let what you've been through define what you're capable of becoming.
For me, that passion was becoming a locksmith and owning my own business. In July 2025, I opened Cache Lock & Key right here in Cache Valley, where I was born and raised.
Every day I get to wake up, work with my hands, solve problems, meet new people, and help someone who needs it. It might seem like a simple thing to some, but to someone who once fought just to stay alive, it means everything.
**None of this would have been possible without my heart donor, Dalton.** ❤️
Because Dalton made the decision to become an organ donor, I was given the opportunity to live, to pursue a dream, to build a business, and to experience moments I might otherwise never have had.
Dalton is my hero, and I will forever be grateful for the gift of life he gave me.
I know firsthand that recovery isn't easy. There are setbacks, difficult days, uncertainty, and moments when you wonder whether things will ever get better.
But please, **DON'T GIVE UP. KEEP FIGHTING.**
Fight for another day. Fight for your family. Fight for your dreams. Fight for the life you still have ahead of you.
Your journey may look different than it did before your transplant, and that's okay. You may have limitations, and some days will be harder than others. But that doesn't mean you can't find happiness, purpose, and something worth getting up for every morning.
**You're still here. Your story isn't over. There are still chapters waiting to be written.**
I'm living proof that life after a heart transplant can be meaningful, fulfilling, and full of opportunities.
I'm incredibly grateful to NewsBreak for sharing my story, to everyone who has supported Cache Lock & Key, and most importantly, to Dalton for giving me the chance to write this next chapter of my life.
If sharing my story gives even one person the strength to keep fighting or the courage to pursue something they've always dreamed of doing, then sharing it is worth it.
And please, if you haven't already, consider registering to become an organ donor. One decision can give someone else an entire lifetime of possibilities. ❤️
**Never give up. Never stop fighting. And never take a second chance for granted.**
