A stone entry tower like this one does more than frame a front door — it sets the tone for the whole home before anyone even steps inside.

The two-story arched window brings in dramatic light over the entry, while the natural stone grounds all that soft taupe siding above it. Multiple gables and a bay window addition on the side keep the roofline interesting without feeling busy, and a wraparound lawn gives the whole facade room to breathe.

Curb appeal like this isn’t an accident — it’s the result of getting proportion, materials, and massing right from the very first sketch.

You can’t buy wood like this anymore — not for any price.

This original quarter-sawn oak trim, medicine cabinet, and door were all here long before we were, and preserving them was non-negotiable. We built the rest of the room around that woodwork instead of over it: a soft sage-green wall color that lets the wood tones stay the star, a classic pedestal sink, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures that feel like they could have always been there, and the original mosaic tile floor kept right where it belongs.

This is the kind of project we love most — not erasing a home’s history, but giving it a reason to shine for another hundred years.

Dark cabinetry against a soft, pale wall color is one of our favorite contrasts to design around.

Here, deep espresso cabinets ground the space against a gentle sage-green backdrop, while exposed wood beams along the vaulted ceiling add architecture and warmth up top. A colorful glass mosaic backsplash ties the two together, catching light from that sculptural pendant over the island. It’s a kitchen that feels bold without ever feeling heavy — proof that dark cabinetry doesn’t have to close a room in when the rest of the palette is doing its job.

Contrast like this is where a kitchen stops looking like a catalog page and starts looking like a real design decision.

Nothing shows off a home’s architecture quite like a backdrop of October color.

This Victorian’s character comes through in the details: the shingle banding that wraps the upper stories, the steep, dramatic gables, the way the white clapboard on the first floor grounds all that texture above it. These are the kinds of details worth preserving and restoring rather than stripping away — they’re what give a home a sense of history you simply can’t recreate from scratch.

Some of our favorite projects aren’t about reinventing a home. They’re about bringing out the character that’s already there.

A window seat changes a room more than almost any other addition we build.

This one tucks into a bay of three oversized windows, turning what used to be empty wall space into the best seat in the house — morning coffee, an afternoon book, watching the yard without ever leaving home. Paired with a vaulted ceiling and that gorgeous arched transom window pulling in extra light, this little addition does a lot of work for its footprint.

It’s proof that you don’t need a huge addition to make a huge difference in how a room feels to actually sit in.

There’s something about a classic Cape in full spring bloom that just gets us every time.

New siding, crisp white trim, and a pair of symmetrical dormers give this home a timeless, storybook kind of curb appeal — the kind that doesn’t need to shout to make an impression. A simple portico over the front door and a brick walkway tie it all together, while those redbud trees do the rest of the work this time of year.

This is what we mean when we talk about timeless design: it’s not about keeping up with what’s trending, it’s about building something that will look just as charming ten springs from now as it does today.

A rich wood countertop in a bathroom always catches people off guard — in the best way.

We love pairing it with an oil-rubbed bronze faucet and a vessel sink for a look that feels more like furniture than a standard vanity. Soft slate-blue walls and a whimsical birch-and-bird shower curtain keep things playful without tipping into fussy, and that warm wood tone grounds the whole room in something a little unexpected for a bathroom.

Small rooms are where you can take the biggest risks — this one proves it pays off.

Our favorite thing about this kitchen isn’t even in the kitchen — it’s the view from the island straight into the living room.

That’s the whole point of an open floor plan done right: whoever’s cooking is still part of the conversation happening by the fireplace, the kids doing homework on the sectional, the holiday chaos unfolding in the next room over. A hidden beverage station and glass-front cabinetry keep the everyday stuff looking intentional, and that oversized navy island still does the heavy lifting as the spot where everyone naturally gathers.

Good layouts don’t just look good in photos — they change how connected a family feels day to day.

Not every kitchen story is about a dramatic island or a showstopping light fixture. Sometimes it’s about getting the everyday stuff right.

This one was built around real function: a double wall oven for the family that actually bakes together, a French-door fridge tucked exactly where it needs to be for easy access, and a layout that keeps the cook from feeling boxed in. A slate-blue accent wall and subway tile backsplash add just enough personality to keep things from feeling plain, while warm wood tones underfoot soften all that stainless steel.

Good design isn’t always flashy. Sometimes it’s just a kitchen that finally works the way your family actually cooks.

There’s nothing quite like a screened porch that spans two full stories.

The upper level is already furnished for lounging — morning coffee with the birds, evening conversations without a single mosquito crashing the party. Below, a shaded, lattice-skirted porch gives a second spot to escape the sun on a hot afternoon. Both tie seamlessly into the home’s classic white clapboard and that beautiful blue-gray shake dormer up top, so the addition reads like it’s always been part of the house.

We love projects like this one because they don’t just add space — they add an entirely new way to enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine, bugs or no bugs.
