Tuatha de Danann

Acrylic on stretched canvas.

The Tuatha de Danann are a significant group in Irish mythology. They are a supernatural race of beings possessing extraordinary abilities, including mastery over magic and great skill in craftsmanship. Displaced from their homeland in ancient Ireland by the Milesians, the Tuatha de Danann withdrew to a more otherworldly existence, retreating to the sidhe (mounds of earth known as fairy hills). The Tuatha de Danann played a crucial role in Irish mythology, featuring prominently in stories of battles, alliances, and the shaping of Ireland's legendary history.

Mass-produced decor fills a blank wall space, but artwork by an artist changes how a room feels to live in. As we enter cozy season, that vibrancy is important.

"St. John's Eve" comes from one working artist, not a warehouse. Have a closer look.

Acrylic on stretched canvas.

Ballybogs, or peat fairies, are mischievous spirits that inhabit peat bogs in Irish folklore. They lead travelers off their path, disorienting them in the boggy terrain. They hide small objects or personal belongings of humans, only to return them later in a different spot. They have a reputation for creating optical illusions or mirages, making the bog seem larger or more confusing than it actually is. They can also manipulate shadows in the dim light of the bog, creating shapes or figures that seem to move on their own.

Matching is for socks. Art is supposed to have a little friction with its surroundings.

How about a work like "Leannán Sidhe"? Could it add something to your space for the exact reason that it doesn't blend in perfectly?

Check out the rest of the gallery to find the one that adds just the right touch.
