River Rock Table Lamps

Simple and elegant, the River Rock lamp features two stacked ovals turned on a lathe and sanded smooth as river rocks polished by time and water.

We designed this lamp in 2020, and it has been a best seller ever since. After requests for larger sizes, we’ve now added a much bigger River Rock Lamp.

Split Rock Floor Lamp

The Split Rock Lamps developed from a trip to the Alabama Hills in Inyo County, CA; a landscape of spheroidal boulders and natural arches carved by wind and water. Camping among these monoliths became a study of tactile beauty, motivating us to translate these ideas into our woodworking practice; just as wind and water smooth rocks, a hand guiding a chisel smooths wood, creating refined, organic shapes.

Split Rock Sconce

Inspired by rock formations. I love how one rock can look wedged between others, all balancing together and slowly shifting into a little cluster.

The center glass shade is hand-blown by , and I turned the wood, adding texture by carving and burning where it meets the glass.

Sun Rock Sconce

Taking the form of the sun half way over the horizon, shining its light over rocks. It’s pretty spectacular that we get to see this light show daily if we want to, I’m sure we have all have some epic memories with the sunset/sunrise.

I’m thrilled to introduce our Rock Collection, eight designs exploring textures and forms inspired by natural processes. Just as water, wind, and fire shape rocks, the wood in these pieces is shaped by hand with a chisel, sander, and torch.

This collection began with the River Rock Lamp, designed in 2020. I drew inspiration from the stones worn smooth and round by the creek that ran under our front porch while living in the woods of Southern Indiana. While camping in the Alabama Hills in Inyo County, CA, we were inspired by the spheroidal splitting we saw in the rocks, which moved us to create their likeness when we got back to LA.

The collection is molded from a lifetime of camping and hiking, trail running since my early teens, taking moments to admire the forms that nature produces. From discovering Petoskey stones in my beloved Michigan to cracking geodes in Indiana, hiking 100s of miles on the Pacific Crest Trail, seeing fairy chimneys in Cappadocia and the limestone cliffs of Krabi, I hope to bring the essence of my explorations into your indoor spaces. When we’re inside our homes, I want to feel nestled in by nature’s shapes. That’s what I hope this collection brings to your indoor spaces.
