Taking time to reflect, reconnect, and reimagine what’s next.

This week, our leadership team stepped away from the studio and into nature for our annual retreat—an opportunity to reflect on where we’ve been, celebrate how far we’ve come, and thoughtfully consider where we’re headed.

As an established practice, we recognize that continued growth isn’t simply about doing more, but about evolving how we think, collaborate, and lead together.

Our conversations continued the following day as the entire studio joined us, bringing fresh perspectives, shared aspirations, and a collective voice to help shape our future.

Through candid conversations, meaningful exchanges, and moments of laughter, we were reminded that our greatest strength lies not only in the work we create, but in the people, relationships, and shared values that shape it.

One of the greatest luxuries isn’t simply a beautiful view—it’s feeling deeply connected to the place you call home.

Some places ask for architecture that speaks loudly. Kauai asked us to listen.

Shaped by the island’s climate, trade winds, and extraordinary landscape, this home was designed to dissolve the boundary between indoors and out. Every space frames a moment—of light, breeze, garden, or ocean—allowing nature to become an integral part of everyday life.

In the end, our aspiration was simple: to create a home that doesn’t compete with its setting, but quietly belongs to it.

Perched along a gently sloping hillside, the Frame House is conceived as a series of layered volumes that step with the terrain, transforming the site’s natural grade into a sequence of interconnected indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Organized around a central courtyard, the architecture opens to terraces and planted roofs that extend the landscape upward and inward, softening the building’s presence within its neighborhood. Expansive glazing dissolves the boundary between interior and garden, allowing light, air, and views to shape daily life.

Dark, refined materials provide a quiet architectural framework, while lush vegetation introduces warmth and texture—creating a residence that feels both grounded in its site and deeply connected to nature.
