Thank you for taking the time to become familiar with WALLPAPER DOWN, experts in wall covering since 1974. We are licensed wall covering contractors specializing in wallpaper removal and wallpaper installation for over 35 Years with accomplishments that has satisfied thousands of homeowners, contractors and designers over the years. In appreciation of our environment we do not need to use the harsh chemicals that our competitors seem to think is necessary. We’re working totally GREEN. QUALITY COMES WITH EXPERIENCE. For over 35 years our strong conviction in quality work and customer satisfaction has been rewarding for both us and our customers. Our jobs are neat, clean and performed by skilled American technicians so things are done with clear communications in a timely manner with better results. Clean walls mean quality. When removing wallpaper, all walls or ceilings are always scrubbed down after the wallpaper is removed, so the end result is a very clean surface. All surface glue will have been removed by the extensive washing we provide on all jobs. We have full insurance coverage including Liability and Workers Comp which eliminates the burden of liability for the homeowner. Our insurance also qualifies us for commercial jobs as well as large remodel contractors and design firms that require higher standards for their subs. SERVICE AREA. Wallpaper Down mostly serves Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. We use to serve 5 counties in Southern California, but given the hours consumed by traffic and unpredictable conditions that exist today on our highways, we tend to lose our competitive edge the farther out we go. EXPERIENCED SERVICE TECHNICIANS. Our technicians are our best asset. Arriving will be neat and considerate service technicians that are highly skilled and trained specifically for removing and or installing wallpaper. We do not use kids or labors; these are our experts. They can clearly point out different types of walls, textures and paint conditions that exist. They can determine unusual conditions almost immediately and will apprise our customers in ways they understand. These people have been doing this for years and I believe to be the best in the business. We practice neat and clean working habits; our use of cloth tarps protects floors and carpets the best. We also believe in American Labor and with that we get perfect communication skills which means you get things done as you asked. We encourage the customer to be available when we do the work so we can keep you apprised as we go. The Wallpaper Down team takes pride in knowing the answers and takes the time to explain. OTHER PAINTERS AND PAPERHANGERS. Our expertise in removing wallpaper became apparent to painters and paperhangers early on as at that time they did not want to touch it because of its difficulty and poor techniques back then. Our name and reputation spread in the industry like light at sunrise. They knew that on our jobs the walls were always scrubbed down to satisfy the most detailed painter and our cleanup always impressed the fussiest homeowner. To this day we are recognized by more painters and paperhangers than any one else. Over the years we have completed over 2000 jobs that were from painters and paperhangers alone. Paperhangers please note; if another paperhanger asked us to remove wallpaper for one of their customers, and that customer asked us for another paperhanger’s name, the answer has always been the same: “the one that referred us to this job is the only one we know”. A LITTLE HISTORY. We at Wallpaper Down consider ourselves very fortunate with our success in the wall covering business. We work for some of the best contractors and Interior designers in southern California. Our work takes us into some of the most incredible homes in the world; giving us an insight of the most exquisite examples of high end architecture and design of the past 100 years. We were fortunate to be found by L.A. Magazine when putting their “Home Improvement Guide” issue together as we were named “Best in L.A.” in this popular magazine. We started the business when wallpaper was at the height of its popularity and almost everybody had some to be removed. In the 80’s and 90’s the decorators choice swung back to painted walls and that meant wallpaper was coming down and Wallpaper Down was moving up. We soon employed up to a dozen men and women removing wallpaper throughout Southern California. Beverly Hills seemed to be our hub when it came to the removal of wallpaper. Flocks, foils, Painted-over wallpapers and more were being removed from every mansion. (Note our “name droppers list” of about 50 celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor, Lucille Ball and Steven Spielberg who we did work for through their designers. See our “Credits & Accomplishments” Page” for the full scoop.) Today Wallpaper is back in a big way. Designers can’t get enough of it. We are installing more wallpaper than ever. Our main installer is a 3rd generation paperhanger and has over 20 years’ experience on his own. Maintaining superior standards is important to us not only for the purpose of impressing you the customer, but equally important to impress the painter or paperhanger who follows. Chances are your painter or paperhanger referred you to Wallpaper Down because they want the job done right. If we don’t already know them we encourage you to have them call us so we can assure them of our expertise. Thank you for taking the time to allow us at Wallpaper Down to help you understand more about wall covering. If you have any further questions about our company or your wall covering project, please don’t hesitate to call or contact our office.
