Have you ever wondered how the plastic is put on our large hoop-houses? Well now you can watch the magic happen!! ✨

Every fall we replace the plastic on each of our 10 hoop-houses on the property as a team! Think of the rainbow parachute in gym class as a kid!🪂 We billow it over and over until it’s all the way over the top, then snap it into place!

Bulb Lasagna! Join Jamie today and learn how to create your own layered Spring bulb pot! 🌷

✨ Jamie’s Pro-Tips:

🌸 Choose bulbs with different bloom times to maximize your flowers next Spring! Choose an early Spring, mid Spring, and late Spring bulb to get weeks of blooms!

🌼 Make sure your pot is well insulated! Glazed ceramic, resin plastics, and compostable grow pots will insulate better than terracotta!

🌺 Think about wind protection. Pull your creation into an unheated garage or shed, or up against the house for some wind protection when we dip below freezing this winter! ❄️

Molly is our Annual and Perennial department Lead. She joined the team in early 2025. She has been in the landscaping and yard maintenance industry for over 10 years. She is a nature lover, garden dork, critter kisser, chocolate enthusiast, and travel dreamer. Her favorite pass-time is birding!

The Item of the Week this week is the ‘Iroquois Beauty’ Aronia aka Chokeberry! 🫐

🌳 Aronia are native to the Eastern United States, and therefore handle our Kentucky clay soils very well! They are spring bloomers that are popular with pollinators, and produce black-ish purple berries in the fall that are great for supporting native birds! 🐦

They reach 3-4 ft tall and 4-5 ft wide and give excellent fall color that any native gardener will love! 🍁

🪻It’s Bulb Season! Kristina is back with a few tips to make it easy on you this fall! 🌷

🌸 Make sure you have the perfect area for your bulbs! Look for full sun, and workable soil so you don’t disturb any perennials already in the garden.

🌼 A bulb planting tool will take the heavy lifting out of digging all those holes! It works just like a cookie cutter to pull that soil up with no hassle. 🍪

🌺 Use a fertilizer like Bulb-Tone to keep those new bulbs well-fed!
