Egyptian Walking Onions For Sale
5 Plants - $14
10 Bulbils - $15

Allium × proliferum is a very hardy perennial that’s both edible & decorative! It looks like a plant from Dr. Seuss! These fascinating onions form several small bulbs underground & produce clusters of reddish hazelnut-sized bulbils at the top of each seed stalk. Once Egyptian Walking Onions have established themselves, you can harvest both the bulbs at the base of the plant & the bulbils at the top of the stems. All parts are edible, & they taste like regular onions. The stalks can be chopped & used like green onions, & the bulbils & bulbs can be fried, cooked in soups, or used raw in salads. If left untended, you'll understand the term "Walking Onion," as the onion stalks bend down to the ground, allowing the bulbils to take root themselves.
